Chapter 13

Lucinda's POV

Halloween was coming up and me and Alex were preparing for it, both in our stores and at home. "Alex, I'm going to go put up the decorations up outside." I said, heading outside with my staff. I used my magic to set up all the decorations that we'd need for our house. "Alright everything is ready inside. I've got bowls of candy and your familiars are having fun setting up a few things." Alex said. I turned around to see him in his Eevee costume he bought. "You look so good in that." I said. 

"I bet you look better in that pikachu costume you have." He said. I smiled and saw Aphmau walking up to our house. "Hey Lucinda." She said. I walked off the porch and looked at her. "Hi Aphmau, what are you up to?" I asked. 

"I came cause I saw you up and about, besides isn't it super early for you to be up?" She said. I shook my head and looked back at Alex, who was looking over my decorations. "Ever since I met Alex, I've had a decent work schedule while I do a late night request now and then. I've mostly stuck to the day-evening hours of the day to work." I explained. 

"Wow, I never thought someone would get you to change." Aphmau said. I nodded in agreement with her. "Now, what do you need Aphmau?" I asked.

"Why can't I just come over and see you?" She asked. 

"Come on." I said. She sighed and looked at me. "I want... nothing." She said. I looked at her a little confused before accpecting the answer. "Alright, here did you want to put the spider cookies out?" I asked handing her the cookies. 

"Yes." She said taking them. I watched as she started setting the cookies out for the party as Katelyn and Kawaii~chan walked over to us. "Katelyn." I said.

"Lucinda." She said. We stared each other down for a minute before she nodded. "You got the strawberry puffs?" I asked.

"Well of course." She said. 

"Sweet." I cheered. Once she had given me to puffs I started to help set up for the party. Alex was getting the last few things ready while I was looking over what was going on. "Hello." A gruff voice said. I looked over to see Ivan and a couple of his friends walking up to me. "Ivan, this is a private neighborhood party." I said. 

"But the neighborhood is public property." He said. Alex came over stepping in front of me. "Just because this is a public area doesn't mean that is event was meant for everyone." He said. 

"There was a sign that said that it was open to the public." Ivan said.

"It is, but if you start causing problems with anyone here we will get the police involved." Alex explained. Ivan grumbled and looked around for a second. "Can I have a second alone with Lucinda?" Ivan asked. I gripped the back of Alex's costume hoping he wouldn't allow that. "No, you can't. Please enjoy the party, but once it's over leave." Alex said. Ivan walked off with his friends leaving us alone. "You okay?" Alex asked. I rested my head against his back before nodding. "Okay, come on let's go check on some of the events." He said. I grabbed his hand and followed him over to the apple bobbing station. 

Alex's POV

I watched as Laurance walked up to Ivan and started talking with him about something after a few seconds the other guys joined him. I couldn't hear what they were talking about but something was going on since Ivan was smiling and looking around for someone or something. He stopped looking around when he saw Aphmau talking with Aaron. "What's he planning?" I whispered to myself. "Babe is something wrong?" Lucinda asked. I turned to face her and smiled. "No, everything is alright." I said. For the next hour I watched as the guys tried to scare Aphmau along with Ivan. "Hey, Alex do you know what's going on with the guys?" Aaron asked walking up to me.

"No, but it looks like they're doing some sort of competition trying to scare Aphmau." I said.

"How about we go and talk with them about their little competition." Zane suggested. Everyone agreed, but before I left I sneaked a quick kiss on Lucinda's cheek. We managed to corner the guys and made them tell us what was going on. "Oh so you're doing this to help Lucinda." I said. They nodded. "Okay, here's what you say if you really what to scare Aphmau." Aaron said. He explained to the guys what he wanted them to say so Aphmau would scream the loudest she possibly could. We watched as Laurance walked up to her and said what he needed to. She screamed loud enough to hurt my ears before Ivan walked up to them disappointed that he lost to Laurance and the other guys. Aphmau was starting to cry as Aaron tried to explained what was going on to her. "What's going on?" Lucinda asked walking over to us.

I explained what was going on with Aphmau and Ivan which made her upset with everything going on with him. "It's okay, just calm down we'll deal with him later." I said kissing her. After our kiss we went over and talked with Aphmau, Aaron and Zane while the guys were across the street looking at her with giant puppy eyes. "So how long do you plan to stay mad at them?" I asked. 

"As long as possible." She said. I nodded and looked at them. I saw Katelyn walk over to them before Kawaii~chan dressed as Katelyn walked up to them too. "Oh boy, look what's happening." I whispered to Lucinda. She sighed before looking at me. "You know the guys are going to think that Ivan is one of them." She said. I nodded. "Now come on we need to go check on the other events. I sighed as she dragged me to the other events that were happening. As we were walking around I heard a glass shatter on the ground I turned to see Aphmau and a few of her friends turned into kids. I saw Ivan standing behind a stand. "I think we have someone to deal with." I said having Lucinda look over at what happened and who was behind it. 

She growled and marched over to Ivan as he was walking away to his friends. "Ivan!" She yelled. He turned and smiled at her. "Have you come to get back with me?" He asked. She summoned her staff and used her fireball spell hitting him in the chest. "How dare you." He said looking at her. His friends stepped forward and standing using their spells to try and hit Lucinda. I pulled out a pen with a light rune and started writing in the air using runes to cover my costume with magic. As I finished I saw Ivan charging a spell which he launched at Lucinda. I used my wind rune to get in front of her and then my earth rune to take the spell and disapate it. "I'll ask you this one more time. Leave this neighborhood along and stop teaking your guilt out on Lucinda." I said. Ivan chuckled and looked at me. "Make me." he said. I smirked and charged at him I used my fire rune to start hitting him with before it ran out and I switched over to electricity. I used all the runes I could before returning to where Lucinda was with the last bit of power in my wind runes. "What was that?" She asked.

"That was me protecting what I hold dear to me." I said. Lucinda smiled and hugged me. "Thank you." I hugged her and rubbed her head with my hand. "It was my pleasure." I said. We returned to see Aphmau's mom and a few other woman looking at Aphmau and her friends as kids now. "I'll go explain it to them." Lucinda said. I nodded as she headed over and talked to them for a few minutes before coming back over to me. "I guess it's time to head home." She said. I nodded as we walked home. A couple hours later the police came by and asked about what happened, I explained what Ivan had done and even showed them Aphmau and her friends. They took my word and took Ivan away heading back to their station. Once that was taken care of I headed back inside and found Lucinda contemplated something on the edge of our bed. "Is something wrong sweetie?" I asked. She looked up at me with a bit of a blush crossing her face before pulling me into a kiss. One thing led to another and we had a fun night together.
