Chapter 12

Lucinda's POV

A few weeks passed, and me and Alex enjoyed working in the store that we made together. Luckily, we decided a day off from the shop, which left us at home enjoying some more time together. "What should we do for the rest of today?" Alex asked, as we finished another episode of our favorite tv show. I looked at him, then up at the ceiling. "I don't know. There must be something you want to do." I said. He shook his head before there was a knock on the door. We looked at each other, trying to see who'd get up first to answer the door. It turned into a staring contest between us, but the person at the door knocking again, causing Alex to blink. "Yes!" I cheered. Alex shook his head before getting up and answering the door. I heard Alex talking to someone, but I didn't know who. "Aphmau's here to talk with you, Lucinda." I said. 

"Okay, invite her in at least." I said. Aphmau and Alex came to the living room. Aphmau had a bunch of paperwork in her hands. "Hey Lucinda, I have a favor to ask of you." Aphmau said, setting the paperwork down on the coffee table. "What's the favor?" I asked. 

"Well, as you know, me and Kawaii~chan lost our jobs at the maid cafe we were working at. I had the idea after that to start our own cafe. The issue we're having is designs on the maid outfits." Aphmau explained. 

"So, you're asking me to design a maid outfit and show it off, aren't you?" I asked. She smiled and nodded. "Alright, I'll do my best to make a design you'd be proud of." I said.

"Thank you. Now I need to go finish all this paperwork so we can get this business off the ground." Aphmau said, picking up the stack of papers that she had. 

"Let me know when you find a location. I'll come over and set up some runes to help with costs at your cafe." Alex said. Aphmau nodded and thanked him before she left. I summoned a pencil and a sketchbook and started working on a design for the maid's outfit. As I was working on it, I saw Alex trying to sneak a peek at it. "Nope, you don't get to get to see it yet." I said, turning the sketchbook away from his view. 

"What, why not?" He asked. I closed the sketchbook and faced him. "If you want to see me in this outfit you're going to have to come on the opening day." I said. He grumbled about it and continued watching a tv show while I worked on my sketch. The next day I ended up still working on the sketch while me and Alex were at the shop. Once we finished the day at the shop I went out and bought some fabric to make the maid outfit from. I ended up having to stash all the materials and my sketchbook in a magic storage box to keep Alex from peaking at the outfit design. The next day I spent watching videos on how to sew and ended up buying a sewing machine to use on making my maid outfit. "How's the outfit coming along?" Alex asked seeing the videos I was watching.

"Slow, since I decided to actually make it by hand." I said pausing my video. 

"Why don't you take a break from it? You've been working on it non-stop for the last three days since Aphmau asked you to make it." Alex said. 

"If I stop now then I won't ever finish." I said. He moved my phone away from me and blocked my hand when I tried to grab it. "Look I called Aphmau earlier, she just barely found a place to buy for the cafe. I still need to go over and set up some runes for her and I'm sure they're going to remodel the place a bit before opening for business. Let's take to day and rest before you burn yourself out." He said. I looked at him and saw the concern in his eyes. "Alright, but only today. After today I want to finish the outfit asap." I said. He smiled and nodded sliding my phone back to me. I spent the rest of the day with him, but he made sure that I wasn't working on my outfit all the time. The next day I came back to the outfit ready to work on it. I used some magic to make a stone statue of myself. I used the statue to measure out everything I needed for the outfit. For the next couple days I spent most of my time making the outfit and making sure it was sized for me by putting it on the statue.
