"It's good to finally meet you again, Ingrid. Oh, I mean Lt. Ingrid Sebastian," nakangiting bati ni Aaliyah sa kaniya.
"Boys, give them a hand," utos nito sa tatlong lalaki na lulan ng speedboat.
Aaliyah hasn't aged a bit but she looked different. Her hair was now jet black and long, it was tied up in a single bun at the back of her head. She was wearing a black fitted long coat with a white shirt underneath, black denim pants, and black boots. Her curves were in the right places, especially those two mountains on her front and rounded hips. Bigla siyang na-insecure sa flat niyang hinaharap.
Aabutin na sana ni Ingrid ang kamay ng lalaki na mag-aakyat sa kaniya nang pigilan siya ni Zyke.
"I don't know these people, I don't think it's a good idea to go with them," babala nito sa kaniya.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, Nemesis," singit ni Aaliyah. "I'm Major Aaliyah Brada, I was assigned to pick you on behalf of Agent Dusk."
"Reine, please lend me the portable PC monitor. Nemesis wanted to verify something," utos nito sa payat na lalaking nakasalamin ng makapal. Agad naman itong tumalima at kinuha ang hinihingi ni Aaliyah.
"Here, you can talk to him via video call," anito matapos may pindutin sa hawak. Iniabot ito kay Zyke.
"Nemesis, I'm sorry I couldn't make it there. I have an urgent matter to do so I sent Major Brada," agad na bungad ni Dusk kay Zyke. "You can trust her, she's one of us."
"Okay, we'll go with them, because I trust you," sagot ni Zyke dito at ibinalik kay Aaliyah ang gadget.
"So, wala na tayong issue ngayon, right? Come aboard," nakangiting sabi ni Aaliyah.
"Mauna ka na, Ingrid," sabi ni Zyke sa kaniya bago siya hinapit sa baywang at inangat para makaakyat sa bangka.
Sumunod naman si Zyke na lumulan sa speed boat. Hindi na nagsayang ng oras ang lalaki na nagsisilbing helmsman, agad na nitong pinaandar ang speed boat. Malapit na ring lumiwanag, nag-aagaw na ang dilim at bukang liwayway.
"Here, para hindi kayo lamigin." Inabutan sila ni Aaliyah ng tig-isang black marine trench coat.
Kinuha naman nila ito at ipinatong sa kani-kanilang balikat. Nakaupo sila pareho sa cockpit area. Iyong dalawang lalaki ay nakatayo sa tabi ng helmsman.
"So, kumusta ka na, Ingrid? Almost six years have already passed since the last time we saw each other at... at— You know what I mean," umpisa ni Aaliyah sa usapan. Umupo ito sa tapat nilang dalawa ni Zyke.
"Still dealing with a rough ride. It's hard coping up being alone. How about you, Aaliyah? Bakit bigla kang nailipat ng destino after that incident?" may bahid ng pagdududang tugon ni Ingrid.
"My father requested my transfer. My godfather is a general, he's the one my father talked to. Natakot siya sa pangyayaring iyon kaya gusto niyang mag-lie low ako," walang kurap nitong paliwanag.
Tumango na lang si Ingrid. She had these odd feelings towards her. Hindi niya lang matukoy ang dahilan. Maybe she just had a trust issue.
"We're not heading the right route," biglang sabi ni Zyke, matiim itong nakatingin kay Aaliyah.
