The Hurricanes

  The train had been stopped for about fifteen minutes, and you were all growing anxious. "How much longer are we gonna wait?" Vermin started panicking. "We might be here forever. I'm sick of waiting for trains!" He whined. "Vermin, sit down and shut up." Swan demanded. Vermin turned around from the door, his eyes widened with panic. "Okay, okay!" He sat back down near Cowboy.

You could hear a couple footsteps echoing through the subway underground; A few minutes after Vermin's outburst. They increasingly grew louder, until they echoed right outside your train door. Everyone looked alarmed, and you looked out the windows. Two more steps approached the cart, revealing a cop behind the glass. "Go!" Swan yelled. You all jolted up out of your seats and made a run for it.

"Where?" Screamed Fox. "Hey hold it!" the cop yelled after him. You ran out of the right door, followed by Vermin, Cowboy and Ajax. The cop was right there and made a swing for you, and you ducked out the way. But Ajax came up from behind you, and knocked the cop to the ground. Another three cops emerged from around the corner, so you made a run for it. Two spotted you four, and followed you up the closest set of stairs.

Looking behind you, you saw Swan and Snow run for the track, and Fox and Mercy run for the opposing stair case. You looked down the steps and saw the two cops following close behind you now. You yelled as you turned back forward feeling your leg get tugged down.

Vermin and Cowboy had made it up to the top already, but Ajax was only a few steps ahead. "Come on!" He hollered at you, looking behind him. You fell onto your hands and knees. "Hey!" Ajax grumbled, seeing the cop grabbing at your leg; the other in hot pursuit. He ran back down quickly, kicking the cop holding your ankle square int he chest; knocking him down onto the cop behind him.

They fell backwards, tumbling down the stairs and onto the four far below. "Come on!" He shouted, ripping you up from the stairs and dragging you up them with him. Once you reached the top, you saw Cowboy and Vermin turning a corner through a set of doors. "This way!" You yelled to Ajax who was right behind you now.

You two opened up the doors that lead to the street, greeted by Vermin and Cowboy. "Where are the others?" Ajax breathed. They shook their heads. "Last I saw, Swan and Snow were heading down the train tracks. And Mercy went with Fox." You said. "We thought you got busted." Vermin said looking at you, exasperated.

You looked up to Ajax, giving him a thankful smile. "What do we do now?" Cowboy asked. "We keep moving." Ajax grumbled, walking past you three and taking lead.

You four were sweating from the heat; the rain from before seemed to make the air even hotter, rather then cool it off. You took off your jacket, and tied it around your waist. "Do you know where we are?" You asked Ajax. He was walking on your left, and the other two were a few paces behind, out of ear shot. He looked behind at them, then back to you. "No." He confessed. "But it sure beats standing around." He huffed.

You walked on a bit more in silence, looking at him sideways. He looked back at you and then his brothers; he looked like he had something to say. After a few more steps, he grunted and stopped you three. "Listen. I say we take off our colours." He said. You looked at Cowboy and Vermin who looked stunned.

"What? Why would we do that?" Vermin shook his head. Cowboy agreed with Vermin. "Cause. It's askin' for trouble. I won't get myself wasted over some colours, they ain't ever done anything for me." Ajax was growing irritable. The others shook their head; they didn't want to. "Fine. I ain't gonna be here though when you guys get japped for being a bunch of airheads." Ajax said through his teeth. He looked over at you. "You comin' or what?" He asked. You shook your head. "Ah, fuck you." He ripped off his vest and threw it at you. He gave you all one last sickened look, and left out of sight down the street.
