A Party

You woke up around two in the afternoon. You overslept; but that was because of how exhausted you were from last night's adventure, and your wound. You looked down at your arm, noticing it had grown black and purple. "Ow." You said aloud to yourself. You had slept naked again, feeling more comfortable here; your brothers wouldn't walk in unannounced unlike with the other boys. You crawled over to your pile of clothes, trying to find your towel. You desperately needed to shower off the crusted blood and dirt. You grabbed it and wrapped it around your body, leaving your door and turning on the shower.

After about ten minutes you were clean, and turned off the taps. You combed through your wet hair, and brushed your teeth with a random toothbrush nearby. You left the bathroom and saw Rembrandt playing with the radio. "Hey. How are you feeling?" You asked him. He turned around to see you, looking down at your towel. He looked bashful and shied to the side. "What do you mean, me? You're the one with metal in your arm." He looked away. "True. But you were the one who almost fainted." You playfully mocked. He pretended to push you away, and you laughed; heading back to your room, closing the door a crack.

You dropped your towel and pulled your grey sweat pants on. You reached for a black shirt and lifted it over your head, throwing it on. You opened your door back up and saw Ajax walking into his room from the direction of your room. You brushed it off that he had been in Snow's room; though you never hear him walk past.

You had gone to the kitchen and grabbed something to eat, talked with Rembrandt and Cochise for a bit, and had Cowboy inspect your arm once more. You told them not to disturb you for a couple hours, since you were going to lay down for a nap; to rest before tonights party.

"You know? That ain't a bad idea." Vermin said, leaning up out off of the couch. "Yeah maybe I'll grab some shut eye too." Rembrandt said. "Oh man, you never party. Don't kid yourself." Cochise chirped. Vermin laughed and fist bumped him, both mocking Rembrandt. "I dunno. Maybe I will." Rembrandt said; embarrassed. You gave him a sheepish smile and left the living area, closely behind Vermin. As he was turning for his door he gave you a look over his shoulder, as you were walking to your own.

This was the second time he had done this in the last two nights. Why didn't he just say whatever it was that was clearly on his mind? You brushed it off and dropped yourself down onto your mattress, pulling the comforters over yourself.

You woke up around seven o'clock, and threw your vest over top of your slacks. The sun was slowly beginning to set and you and the boys went outside for your night patrol. You had been talking with Rembrandt outside the outfit when Swan had finally come downstairs with Fox. "Okay. Moth you're with Rembrandt and Snow. Check the outskirts of our turf. Ajax Cochise and Vermin, I want you three to steal some drinks and tobacco for tonight." You all nodded. "Cowboy Fox and myself are going to check in with the other Warriors to see if they've packed away the guns properly." He said. "Which brings me to my next point; Mothman. You did more then I had asked last night." He turned to you, and the others watched intently. You grew uncomfortable at all the attention. "As far as I'm concerned you've proven yourself a more than capable Warrior. You now have free rein to the same rules as the others." He said. You frowned, you didn't know what this meant. "What do you mean?" You asked. Some of them snickered, but Ajax looked upset. "Rembrandt can fill you in. Let's head out, we got a big party tonight." Swan finished.

You and Rembrandt had walked for twenty minutes or so, with Snow in the lead, when you couldn't take it any longer. "So. Are you going to tell me or what?" You gushed. He looked confused for a moment, and then his face softened in understanding. "Well, there's a few things you can do now I guess." He started, you listening intensely. "Like what?" You asked. "Well for one, you get bigger missions. The more you do those and succeed, the higher rank you get." He said. "So, whats the ranking now then?" You asked. "Well obviously it goes Swan first. Then it would be Fox, and then Ajax." "-Ajax?" You interrupted. You didn't think he would be in front of Snow. "Yeah well that was the ranking before Cleon got wasted." He looked at his feet. "I guess Ajax deserves it still anyway. He's done a lot of crap to get where he is, regardless of the way he is." Rembrandt said. "So then after Ajax it's Vermin, Snow, Cochise. Then Cowboy, and I guess myself. But I'm the artist, so I guess I don't really fit in on the list." He said. "Huh." You breathed. "That's not what I thought it would be. But I guess I haven't been around long enough to see." You shrugged. You both walked quietly for a moment. "So is that it then, just rankings?" You asked. He looked back at you and thought for a moment. "No I guess not. You'd be pleased to find out it means you can bring a guy back to the outfit, just the same as one of us can being a girl home." He smirked. You tried not to look phased by this. "Cool, I guess." Was all you said. You two walked and he continued to look at you, looking for a reaction to what he said next. "Means any guy." He pressed. You frowned at him smirking. "What are you going on about?" You joked.
