You woke up to a snoring Ajax and a pitch black room; there weren't windows in any of the bedrooms, so it was always dark. He was sleeping on his side, facing away from you. You stretched and got up out of bed, finding a shirt from the ground and your underwear. You threw them on and quietly left his room, closing the door behind you.

You walked into the living room and saw only Cowboy was awake; sitting on the armchair. "Hey." You sat down beside him. You looked at him, noticing this was the first time you saw him without his vest or hat on. His hair was shaggy and almost reached his shoulders; it looked real good. "Mornin'." He said with a smirk. "I'm surprised you're up so early, being the one who worked all night." You said. "I could say the same to you." He winked. You frowned, confused. Then you realized he had probably heard you and Ajax last night. Your cheeks grew red. He laughed. "Really though there was nothing to it. That's something we do most nights to make money. Last night was just planting." You were growing interested

"And you and Cochise are the best at it?" You asked. He considered it for a moment. "No. But we take turns with things that are expected of us. Snow's good too, but he just did a deal a few nights ago." He said. You nodded, and he pulled out a candy bar and peeled it open; taking a bite. "Do you know what time it is? You seem to be the only who wears a watch." You asked, leaning over to see his wrist. "Almost eleven." He spoke with a full mouth. "Well doesn't that mean you guys should be on patrol soon?" You looked around to a still silent house. He shook his head, gulping down his bite. "No. Afternoons aren't as strict. Whenever they wake up, Swan makes the call." You nodded.

You both sat in silence, and you laid down on your back; feet drawn up, looking at him. "Wait." You said, wondering. "Doesn't this mean the Jones Street Boys will be on your asses? Is it safe to be here?" You asked. "Maybe, but i doubt it." He said, then laughed. He wrapped up the other half and shoved it back in his pocket. "They don't have any alliances, and now without a leader they'll just be an angry mess. Nothing to worry about here." He grinned. "Yeah I guess." You said, feeling more relaxed with his answer.

You and Cowboy continued to talk for an hour or so about different gangs and related subjects. You had found out about the colours of a few surrounding gangs, and their leaders names and turf. It was really easy to talk to Cowboy you were beginning to realize. He and Mercy were your closest allies here, and Fox being your least.

"Its pretty interesting how different you all are." You said, unrelated. He frowned a bit. "What do you mean?" You leaned up, staring at him.

"Well some of you get along real good. But others really don't like one another it seems." You said. He grew a small smile. "Ah you mean Ajax and Fox?" He said. "Yeah they're opposites alright. But thats good sometimes. Good to have different people for different muscle in a brotherhood. You don't need to get along with everyone, just need to work together towards the same goal." You took this in, realizing he was probably one of the smarter, more perceptive of the brothers. "And whats the goal?" You asked; but Ajax opened his bedroom door, interrupting you two.

He was rubbing his eyes and wearing just a pair of slacks;shirtless. "I can hear you two from down the hall. Shit." He complained, walking to the bathroom. You heard him piss in the toilet, and one-by-one the other boys slowly got up.

"Okay. Time to move." Swan said to Cowboy; who was still sitting at your feet. Swan walked down the hall and the other boys followed. "See you later." Cowboy said, playfully tickling your foot as he stood up. You jolted your feet back grinning, happy to have another friend.

They all headed out the door, and after a minute you saw Ajax run from the kitchen. "Shit." He muttered to himself. You laughed as he ran out the door, leaving you and Mercy home alone again.
