My feet pound against the floor as I push myself to move as fast as I possibly can.

I can hear them behind me.

They're coming.

Run faster.

You're almost there.

My thoughts are cut short when I turn a corner and bump right into three guards.

My mental state finally caved in at that moment and any hope I had left evaporated.

This was my life.

I was going to kill my friends.

I was going to kill Lexa.

I whimper in pain when I'm tossed roughly into the cell.

They've finally broken me.

And they know it.

"She's ready, Sir" the guard mumbles into the ear piece.

"Perfect" I hear in response before it all goes dark.

I wake up strapped to a table.

I begin to panic, pulling in the restraints.

I look up only to find the doctor staring directly at me, a sick smirk plastered on her face.

"You're going to be stronger and faster after this. You should be thanking me for upgrading you" she tells me before she pulls out a saw.

My eyes widen in fear as the blade starts spinning.

The saw near my arm and I squeeze my eyes shut, screaming in pain.

It was excruciating.

My breathing starts to get heavy. I can't breath.

Tears fill my eyes as I start to thrash around.

"PLEASSSEE NOO" I beg, my voice breaking.

"MAKE IT STOP!" I scream, begging for it to stop.

My tears fall as I writhe in pain on the table.

Hands hold my body down and I beg for them to help me.

For someone to save me.

For warm hands to hold me.

For a gentle voice to tell me I was safe and okay.

No one came.

That's the world we live in.

No one cares for anyone but themselves.

They wouldn't save you.

You should've known.
