Part 6

KIARA'S POV
I was having lunch with Kim at her place as I put her up to speed with everything.
"3am?" Asked Kim and I nodded
"Well, go carina!" She laughed
Did made me laugh but wasn't a funny thing!
"Kim please! Grow up!" I said
"Sorry! Sorry you're right. But, come on cut her some slack Kiara. Could have happened to anyone"
She was right. I was probably being kinda harsh on her. Just. Not jealousy it's more like it's always been the two of us and now. Now there's another one.
CARINA'S
"Si, I know. Just I'm not sure if she'll want to talk to me" I said to Maya on the phone
"I know. I know. Teenagers are just." Said Maya
"Tell me" laughed Carina
"Okay okay. I'll talk to her. I just, really wanted you two to meet and get along." I said and then realised how stupid it sounds "I'm sorry I'm so sorry. I don't want to scare the hell out of you. I know we just met" I tried to say to fix things but I heard Maya cutely laugh
"Carina! Carina. Hey. Yeah I usually be scared away. Just, you know how things are between us? I feel like I know you since always." Said Maya
"You two are meeting" I laughed
CARINA'S POV
Argh long days, long shifts damn. Damn. Damn.
"Dr. Deluca!" I heard someone yelling behind me. It was Jo
"Dr. Wilson" I laughed "please it's carina"
"Haha okay. Carina" she said "we have scheduled a C-section this night" she said
"Oh damn. I completely forgot. Yeah. Time?" I asked
"9:30" Jo said before leaving
"Shoot shoot shoot" I thought
Okay okay. I was heading home. Talking to Kiara and coming back home

KIARA'S POV
"Yeah yeah. You're right." I said To Kim
"When was I not right?" She laughed
"Shut it" I laughed "I'm not sure I want to meet her tho"
"What do you mean?"
"Like. I don't know if I want to meet the firefighter"I said
"Not like you're gonna meet her today Kiara" said Kim "but. If she does make your mom happy, what's wrong with that?"
"I don't know Kim. It's just. Awkward" I said
"Awkward is that you have the hottest guy in the school after you. And you are ignoring it" said Kim "carina and her firefighter. Is cute. And you should be happy for her. It's not she's changing you"
"I know. I know she's not it's just more like" I tried to say but got stuck
"There are different kind of loves. The kind of love between parents and children. Not the same as with a girlfriend of boyfriend. With you? She's stuck" Kim laughed
"How can you be that good at giving advice and suck so much at following advice?" I laughed
"Cause you suck at advising" she said and hugged me
I drove home from Kim's house to mine which is actually just some blocks away. As I parked outside I saw mom's car in the driveway. She was home.
As I opened the front door the smell of her amazing food invaded me.
No fair she knew that her food always made me happy. Even when I was sad or angry.
CARINA'S POV
I heard the car in the driveway. It was Kiara no doubt about it. That music she plays while she drives.
Food was almost ready. I had to be back in the hospital in an hour but at least. I'll leave her warm food.
As she unlocked the door I peaked out of the kitchen
"Hey mi amore" I said and I tried to decode her face. Was she still angry at me?
"Hey mom" she answered back in quite a good mood
"I have a C-section. At 9pm" I said
"Oh. Okay. You sleeping here or staying?" She asked
"No no, I'm coming back it'll be quickly hopefully no complications." I said smiling
"Can Kim come over for dinner?" She asked
"Hahah Kim is part of the house she doesn't have to ask to come have dinner you know that. Is just Kim coming?" I laughed
"Yeah I guess just Kim." She said
"Okay then. She staying over?" I asked
"Yeah. Maybe" she said
"Kiara." I said ready to apologise
"I'm sorry mom" she said before I could even open my mouth
"No no, I'm sorry. I should have.." I tired saying
"No, mom. I shouldn't have been that a harsh last night. I'm just sorry." She said
"Hey no, it's okay. I should have been home when I said I was and I should have texted you. And I'm sorry for that. I really am." I said
Before I could realise she was tightly hugging me.
KIARA'S POV
"It's okay mom. It really, really is. Hate you have to work tonight" I said
"Yeah I know. Just. It'll be Jo's first C-section" she said
"Oh that's amazing. Tell her good luck!" I said
"Haha I will." Laughed mom
"You going out with the firefighter again?" I asked "I mean did everything go okay last night?"
"It really did and yeah I think we are" she said smiling
"You seem happy" I laughed
"I am happy" she said
