Bella spun around in her chair, biting into a pickle. She scrunched her nose at how bitter it was, not typically one to enjoy pickles. She ignored the sour taste, swallowing it and starting on another pickle.
"Since when did you start eating pickles?" Spencer asked, giving Bella's shoulder a squeeze.
She tossed her long hair behind her shoulder and shrugged, "I don't know, I've realized that I kind of like them. They're not bad."
"I've never been a fan."
"It takes some getting used to."
Spencer grinned, tucking some hair behind Bella's ear before making his way over to his desk. He sat down and stared at the stack of paperwork on his desk. With a sigh, he grabbed a pen and began working on it.
Today was a slow day, there wasn't a case so the team was working on paperwork all day. It was cool outside, getting Bella and Spencer in the Halloween spirit. It was approaching and Bella was starting to put up the decorations. The only thing she hadn't prepared yet was a costume.
Derek looked up from his desk and over at Bella, giving a large smile as she continued to hum to herself and spin in her chair.
"You bored or something?" he asked. "If so, you can do my paperwork for me."
"Good joke," Bella smiled. "I finished all my paperwork days ago because I don't procrastinate like some people." She eyed Spencer, earning a confused glance from him.
Derek leaned in closer and dropped his voice, "I heard there's a new agent starting today."
"Really?" Spencer questioned. "Do you know who it is?"
"No idea," Derek said with a shake of his head. "I heard we're probably going to be meeting her today-"
Before Derek could finish his sentence, the doors open as Hotch and a brunette woman walked inside. Bella, Spencer, and Derek all turned and looked at her. They all gave polite smiles as Hotch walked past them.
"Everyone," he said. "Conference room please."
The woman smiled at them before walking towards the conference room with Hotch. Bella, Spencer, and Derek all stood up and made their way to the room as well. Entering it, they saw that JJ, Rossi, and Penelope were inside already.
"Now that everyone is here," Hotch said. "This is Dr. Alex Blake, she will be joining us on the team. Alex this is Derek Morgan, Penelope Garcia, David Rossi, Jennifer Jareau, Dr. Spencer Reid, and Dr. Bella Snow."
"Wow!" Alex exclaimed. "I didn't know there were two other doctors on the team. What do you hold doctorates in?"
"Chemistry, engineering, and mathematics," Spencer grinned.
