CHAPTER 23

I was standing in front of my closet trying to decide what to wear to my date with Zane. It was two hours early but you could never have enough time... I took out a spaghetti strap red dress that had a red top and the skirt had red and white checkers. It was simple but it would still work.

I slipped it on over my head and smiled at myself in the mirror. It matched my glasses. I slipped on a pair of white flats and went to the bathroom to do my hair. It was still wet from the shower I had taken beforehand so I just brushed it and left it to dry.

There was a knock on the door. What was Zane doing here do early? There was still two hours until I was suppose to meet him at the restaurant

"It's open!" I shouted and the door burst open

I turned and saw Brody speed walking towards me

"Brody, what are you doing here?" I said walking out of the bathroom

Brody grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards the door

"Come on Delilah, we have to go!"

"Go? What? Go where?" I said trying to stop him from pulling me

"To the Affinity meeting!" he said pulling me

I dug my heels into the floor and tried to pull back

"Brody, I told you I can't go, I have a date with Zane"

"Delilah, we have to go, the next meeting isn't for two months and they might discuss something important! It starts in twenty minutes and if we don't hurry we won't make it!"

"Brody, Zane is already mad enough at me, if I don't go on our date who knows what he'll do!"

"Delilah, you'll have plenty of time to go on your date, it's not for another two hours and the meeting shouldn't last that long. Now come on, we have to hurry!"

"Brody, I'm not going!"

"Delilah do you want to figure out all of this Affinity stuff, do you want to stop it?"

I nodded

"Well then we have to go to this meeting! You'll still have time for your date with Zane!"

I sighed in frustration. "Fine"

"Good, now let's go!" Brody said and pulled me out of my room and out of the dorms

After we were a distance away from the dorms, Brody grabbed my hand.

"I'm turning us invisible. Try not to make any noise"

I nodded and Brody turned us invisible

We quickly but carefully made our way to the seventh floor's west wing. Brody pulled me behind a corner and looked behind it

"Ok, there are about twenty people standing outside where the wall to get in it. Each person has to get in individually so if we can sneak in after someone, we'll be in"

"Ok" I whispered. "Let's go"

Brody pulled me around the corner and we went to stand at the end of the line waiting to get in.

When it came to the person in front of uses turn, we practically ran in after them.

We got inside and the room was filled with people standing, talking, and sitting at the large table
