CHAPTER 9
I laid awake in my bed all night thinking about that book. Why did it have my last name on it? Did it involve me? And why was it in the school's restricted library? Were their bad things in it? Was it something bad about my family history? I wish I had gotten a chance to look at it then I wouldn't be so paranoid about it. I had to go back and get that book; it was going to drive me crazy if I didn't. I sighed it was going to do me no good to stay awake thinking about this, I might as well try and get some sleep. I closed my eyes for a few seconds and I heard a shrill beeping go off. I opened my eyes and groaned. I sat up and smacked my alarm clock off. I swung my legs over my bed and stood up feeling a little woozy.
I walked to the bathroom and turned on the shower. Hopefully it would wake me up a little.
When I was done, I put on jeans, and a long sleeve purple v-neck shirt
I brushed my hair out and let it air dry. It always waved a little when I did that.
I grabbed my glasses off my dresser and put them on, the blurriness of the room fading away
There was a knock on my door and I groaned. I forgot I told Zane he could pick me up. I really didn't want to talk to him after I found out what he did to Galda.
I slipped on my black vans and went to open the door.
Zane was leaning against the doorframe. He smiled when he saw me
"Hey"
"Hey" I said coldly. "I have a few more things to grab, I'll be ready in a second" I said turning around and walking to my desk
His face changed to confused and he followed me in the room closing the door behind him
"Is there something wrong?" he said walking over to me and putting a hand on the desk
"Nope" I said popping the p. "Nothing" I said and walked over to grab my bag
"Then why do you sound mad?" he said walking over to me and putting his hand on my shoulder
I turned around and slapped his arm
He took his hand off my shoulder. "What the heck!" he shouted
"Galda told me what you did" I said crossing my arms over my chest and glaring at him
His eyes widened then he sighed. "Look Delilah, please let me explain"
"I'm listening" I snapped
He sighed again. "Look, what happened between Galda and I never meant to happen. We were drunk and we didn't know what we were doing" he said sadly
"Then why did you dump her the morning after?!"
"Well that's the thing, I figured she would be mad at me and I could deal with that. I didn't want her to think I was some selfish jerk"
"But you are a selfish jerk! You had sex with her then dumped her?! What do you call that? Sincere? I don't think so!"
He sighed again. "I know, and I always regret the way I acted" he said and looked down
My face softened. "Zane, do you still have feelings for Galda?"
His head snapped up. "No, that's the thing, I don't and I just want to be friends again. I liked just hanging out with her, Andrew and Brody but now all of them hate me for it. That's why I'm so freaked out about you. I know your friends with them and all but I don't want what happened between Galda and I to affect our friendship. What happened then is the past and this is now. I just want to forget about what I did and have a clean slate with you guys. It'd be nice to be friends with them again..."
