CHAPTER 24
"Delilah?" someone said and put their hand on my shoulder
"Go away!" I shouted through sobs
I had been sitting on the floor for who knows how long, crying. I didn't know if I was crying because I felt horrible for lying to Zane or if I was crying because Zane wasn't mine anymore.
"Delilah, are you ok?" a female voice said
"I said go away!" I shouted again
I picked my head up from my hands and looked up to see Galda looking down at me with a concerned look on her face
"What do you want?" I said coldly
"I heard you crying from three hallways over. Are you ok? What happened?" she said sitting down on the floor next to me
I sniffed and wiped my eyes. "No, I'm not"
"What happened?" she said rubbing me back
That made me burst into tears again because I wished it was Zane here comforting me
"Hey, hey don't cry. Tell me what happened?"
"Z-Zane..."
"What did he do to you?! I swear, I'll kill him!" she said and tried to stand up
"No!" I said pulling her back down. "It's nothing like that"
"Well then what happened?" she said calming down a little
"H-he, he broke up with me" I sobbed
"Oh Delilah, I'm so sorry" she said giving me a hug. "Do you know why?"
I sniffed again and nodded. "Y-yeah. He t-thought I was keeping secrets from him"
"I'm so sorry De"
"Zane used to call me De!" I wailed and let my head fall into Galda's lap
"Sorry" she whispered. "Here take off your glasses, you're getting them all foggy" she said taking my glasses off my face
I sniffed. "Thanks"
"That's what friends are for. Now come on, let's get you back to your room" she said helping me up
"Do you remember where it is?" I said as she pushed me towards the wizard dorms. I'm not sure if I mentioned it but all of the different creatures had different dorm locations
"Of course I do silly"
I smiled a little but it faded. "Just making sure"
Galda pushed me up the flights of stairs in the dorms and we got to my hallway. Outside the hallway was Zane leaning against the wall with his head down
My eyes widened and Galda stopped
"Do you want me to talk to him?" she whispered
I shook my head. "No, I'm fine"
I took a deep breath and wiped all of the tears off my face. If I going to so much as even walk by Zane, I had to stay strong. I walked forward and towards the hallway entrance.
Zane's head snapped up and as soon as our gazes met I broke down again
I opened my mouth to say something but I closed it. A tear fell down my face and I quickly wiped it and ran past Zane. I ran to down the hall and sopped at my door
