For some reason I feel like I have to make this chapter extra special…just because it’s 50. Hmmmm, oh well haha maybe I’m just crazy like that
CHAPTER 50
Zane started to kiss me more intensely and the feeling of his lips on mine became more desperate
The beeping noise grew faster and faster and I heard the door to the room open
I didn’t care
I was kissing Zane
“Oh, hey there buddy, I would do that. Wouldn’t want little missy’s heart to beat too fast”
Zane pulled away from me looking flustered and I looked to see Dr. Wilson walking over to the various machines on my bedside
The beeping started to slow down and Dr. Wilson monitored the screen
“There, that’s better. We wouldn’t want you getting too excited, it might damage something” he said not looking at me and focusing on the machines
I tried to sit up in the bed but a stabbing pain came from my abdomen causing me to groan in pain
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you. You had some pretty deep wounds there. Luckily that knife missed all of your vital organs” said the doctor
My hand went down to my stomach where Alexander had stabbed me
“Zane…?” I said turning my head to him
He was looking at me with pain in his eyes
“Yes?”
“So it’s over?”
“What’s over?”
“Everything. It’s all over now?”
Zane gave a small smile and let go of my hand for the first time sending the warm feeling away
“Yes De, it’s all over” his hand went to the one that was on my stomach and pulled it away
“The Affinity is gone? We won the war?”
“Yes, everything is ok now. We won, the Affinity is gone”
I smiled
Zane returned my smile
“I must say, you are a brave girl Delilah Duncan” said the doctor turning from his chair to look at me
He smiled at me and lowered the sheets that were covering me
“I just need to get a look at how the wound is healing. It may hurt a little”
I nodded and grabbed onto Zane’s hand squeezing it in a death grip
Zane gave a little chuckle
“Sir, if I could ask you to get off the bed” Dr. Wilson said to Zane
“Oh, sure doctor” said Brody. He got off the bed and returned to the chair he had been sitting in earlier
“Thank you”
Dr. Wilson lifted up my gown that was covered in dried blood, to reveal my bare chest
I saw Brody get up and leave the room shielding his eyes
