CHAPTER 37
I walked back from my dad’s study to Zane’s room
“Zane?”
“Yeah?”
“Can I come in?” I called in front of the closed door
“No, you’re not allowed.” I heard him chuckle. “Yeah”
I opened the door and walked in closing the door behind me
He was sitting on the bed. “How did it go with your parents?”
I walked over and sat on his lap. He put his arms around m waist and rested his chin on my shoulder
“Well, they think were moving too fast”
“You mean us as a couple?”
“Yeah, you know, because they kind of saw us making out this morning…”
“Oh yeah…well did they say anything like we have to split up?” he asked worriedly
“No just they didn’t want that happening anymore…”
“Then it won’t happen…”
“When their looking” I finished for them
Zane laughed. “Well alright then. Did they say anything about the Affinity?”
“Yeah but not much, I can’t get them to break through. Actually, I think their getting a little suspicious”
“Well that’s never good”
“Yeah…I think we have to call in tomorrow”
“Tomorrow?”
“Yeah. I’m not getting much more out of my parents and their starting to get suspicious so I think we should get this over with before they figure anything out.”
Zane nodded. “Ok”
I sighed. “This isn’t going to be easy. What are my parents going to think when they figure out I betrayed them?”
Zane sighed too. “I don’t know De. They might be mad at you but at least your going to to the right thing in the end”
“Yeah. If everything goes right I will”
“Even if it doesn’t, I know you’ll find a way. You’re just that amazing” he said and kissed my cheek
I blushed. “Thanks” I muttered
“You’re very welcome”
“You know, you’re not that bad yourself”
“Guilty as charged” he said and ran a hand through his hair trying to be sexy
I laughed and Zane chuckled
“I better call the troops and tell them to surround tomorrow morning”
I got off Zane’s lap and pulled my phone out of my pocket. I dialed the number Alexander gave me and it rang a few times before picking up
“Affinity troops. This is General Hernandez”
“This is Delilah Duncan. We are ready to surround”
“Right away ma’am?”
“No, tomorrow morning at nine. I’m going to being my parents into the living room. I will call you with the signal when the time is right”
“Very good ma’am. We will be ready surrounding the house and nine AM sharp”
“Thank you very much” I said and hung up
