He was a great hero, but an even better mentor.

The rogues were hiding out in an abandoned warehouse when they heard footsteps getting nearer. They grabbed their weapons and stood in a defensive, yet weary, stance. The figure turned the corner to reveal a boy in nice trousers, a science pun-tshirt with a blazer on top, and some sunglasses. His hair was haphazard and spread over his eyes, but he was able to see just fine, reminding the Rogues of their ex-friend, Tony Stark.

He pulled the sunglasses off to reveal a powerful glare. He reached up and tapped his ear, obviously speaking to someone on a comm link. "They're here. Contain them and get them in the jet."

A few seconds of silence sat in the air before the Rogues startled, the boy shouting;

"QUICKLY!" He composed himself once more "We have places to be and a very strict time schedule."

The last thing the team remembered was a gas entering their lungs, trying to fight off sleep.

The team woke up handcuffed in seperate containment boxes, and started kicking, trying to get out. This all stopped when the same boy walked in, this time in a muscle shirt, showing off all of his abs, and some sweatpants, with a white spider tattoo small yet visible on his shoulder

"If I let you out, you will sit down, shut up and listen carefully. I work under the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, an organization that you are all familiar with." His voice demanded respect, so the rogues nodded in compliance.

The doors opened and the team walked out, sitting down at the small, circular table in the otherwise empty room.

"I'm Agent Peter Coulson, I'm a level 9 SHIELD agent. I work for Fury, and Fury only. I have connections all over the world and could get you sent to the bottom of the ocean faster than you could say 'whoops.' My job is to protect you, not babysit you. As long as you're safe, I'm quite content you tranquilise you all, and leaving you drooling on the carpet while I tend to my other tasks. Is that clear?"

Everyone nodded again, believing the boy would hold this much power of his dad was Phil Coulson. Peter stood up "Everyone get changed into the clothes laid out in your rooms and meet me back out here. We're visiting somewhere important before we go back to the tower so look your best.

He left them, and 5 minutes later, everyone was back in the commons, the men wearing black suits with white shirts and the women wearing black dresses.

Peter walked them outside and held the door open for the team as they slipped into the limo, before getting in the passenger seat.

"Hey Happy." Peter greeted, the team finding it weird that Tony's driver was escorting them somewhere.
"Hi Peter. We finally facing the music with the bunch in the back?"
"Yeah. Thanks Happy."

The rest of the ride was silent apart from the classical music playing softly in the background. When they came to a stop, Peter opened the door for them, thanked Happy one last time before leading the team through a chapel and left them standing in a particular area, before leaving again. A few other people were there, but no-one immediately recognisable if you didn't look enough.

Music started playing and everyone turned towards the doors, where Peter and Rhodey were first saw, carrying a coffin. Behind them were Bruce Banner and Happy, and at the end were T'Challa and Nick Fury. They walked the coffin down the path before stopping and laying down on the table.
The rogues stood there shocked and looked around again, seeing some powerful figures around. They saw Peter walk up to Pepper, and give her a hug before putting a hand on her stomach and they started a hushed conversation.

After a few minutes of mourning, Happy, Peter and Rhodey walked over to the small stand that was behind the coffin. Happy started with his eulogy. "No one could live up to Tony, not even Tony. He second guessed nearly every decision he made but he never second guessed giving his life for the greater good. He never hesitated or second-guessed taking up the mantle of Iron-Man. He was a lovely man, who just wanted the world to be a better place. I went from Hogan, to Harold, to Happy. From a driver, to security, to his friend. And being his friend, through thick or thin was worth more than anything I can try to compare it to."

Rhodey stepped up next "I've known him since MIT. We grew up together, matured together, and became heroes together. He knew that his life would be on the line for the world yet he took that choice. For the greater good. He didn't want to leave the love of his life but he damn well knew that one life was worth less than thousands. And being able to willingly sacrifice himself, knowing the consequences, makes him more of a hero than I could ever be. Despite his past, he was a great person, and can't ever be called otherwise, because he commuted the greatest deed of them all."

Rhodey stepped down and Peter stepped up "My godfather was a good man. He had been sober for over a year, and in a fully committed relationship. His worries for his wife, for his unborn child, may have outweighed his worry for the rest of the country, but he knew the consequences would be much bigger if he didn't do something to help. I've accomplished many things in life and getting Mr. Stark to stop when he's set his mind on something is one of my few failures. He wanted to take the information and drop it into the ocean on a floppy disc, but he didn't because he wouldn't be able to rest. He went, and he completed his mission, finally ready to rest after wiping all that red out of his ledger."

The service continued and they all left, this day extracting a heavy toll on them all, because no-one knew how Tony really died.
No-one except Cap...

...and Peter.
