"Deja vu"

"Life is a mysterious mix of beautiful, challenging, and painful experiences. No one can predict how it will unfold and we don't always understand why it unfolds the way it does."

Josie POV

     Dear Diary,

This is my 27th entry. It's been about 3 months since the defeat of Malivore, everything's been peaceful at school and Dad found a woman to occupy his time. She's the new sheriff. My mom has been a little stressed trying to get all her things together since she's new to all the headmistress stuff. She's used to doing the recruiting. Jade took me on a date yesterday. We just went to the Mystic Grill and then sat at a bench eating ice cream while talking. She's really sweet and gentle.

She asked me out a couple of days after we got back from Georgia. I obviously said yes, I mean back then I was really shy around her, but now I just vent out my feelings to her. She keeps saying that I need to stop putting Lizzie first or else I'm going to lose myself. I can't help but feel like I've heard those words before. I still haven't figured out anything about the necklace that I found around my neck a few days ago.

I didn't even realize that I was wearing a necklace until Jade pointed it out. She asked me what it meant to me and I had no idea how to answer. I didn't want to sound crazy. There's a shit ton of magic in it so I keep wearing it in case there's an emergency that I need magic for. There's an emblem on it. It's like a cursive "m." I found a sweater that had the same emblem so maybe I am crazy. Whatever, I'll keep looking later.

My mom asked me to question Clarke again later on. He says he doesn't remember why he attacked our school. He says it feels like the answer is right on his tongue but he can't seem to grasp the answer. And Landon in the other cell keeps trying to play on my emotions. It doesn't work though. He keeps saying, "Oh Josie I know you still love me." Like bitch shut the fuck up.

Another problem is Jed. He's the alpha but he says he can't feel the power. It's as if someone else is the alpha but no one remembers challenging him. We also found a dorm room that had someone's things in it. It was like someone was just in the room and then vanished leaving all their stuff behind. We just cleared everything out and saved it for new students.

Anyways, I think that's it. Thanks for listening Diary.

I hear a knock on the door and I quickly hid my diary under my pillow. I get out of bed and walk over to open the door. I hear more knocks on the door. "ALRIGHT, I'm coming!" I open the door to reveal Jade. "Hey, babe, ready for dinner?" I nod and we walk to the cafeteria. We sit in our usual spot in the corner with the gang. Lizzie and Mg are kissing at the table. "Ew, if you could save that until you get to a room or just anywhere out of my sight that would be nice." Lizzie pulls away and looks at me annoyed. "Sorry Josie, it's not like you kiss Jade everywhere." I duck my head in embarrassment. "Whatever, let's just eat." I look up to see Jade staring at me. "You're cute when you're embarrassed." "Thanks," I say shyly.

We start eating and Mg's being his usual self by cracking corny jokes. "Oh come. You know you love my jokes." Everyone shakes their heads and he pouts. I sigh and say, "Okay, some of them aren't that bad." Mg's face lights up and I laugh. "I'll take it, thanks, Josie." I give him a thumbs up. We continue eating and we start talking about the new schedule. Since my mom became headmistress. She changed it so we have more classes where we get to do things instead of just listening to a teacher talk. She thought it was necessary since all of the things that happened with Malivore and Triad she thought we should be prepared for things like that.
