Zhenyuan found himself running on the street, dark blood on his clothes and on his face. He had finally managed to escape from the vampires, but he had a bad feeling that they were probably behind him. He didn't know where he was running to, but he knew he had to escape people and escape vampires too. He didn't seem to fit in any side.

But before he left, he had to warn Mia. Even if the vampires hadn't realized she was the vampire descendant, they had a reason to get rid of her – simply because they thought she was the one who had turned Zhenyuan away from the vampire community.

Zhenyuan stopped outside Aunt Kiki's house in the night, then leapt up into a tree. He was able to see Mia's room through her window from where he was on a tree branch. He was surprised to see that the lights in her room was still on.

She seemed to be organizing her desk, and she narrowed her eyes when she saw something in her tree. She walked closer to the window, not at all recognizing that it was Zhenyuan or a human figure all together.

Once her brain was finally able to process who it was despite his bloody face and clothes, she almost instinctively screamed.

Zhenyuan put his finger on his mouth, indicating her to be quiet.

She looked at him with teary eyes, overwhelmed and scared at the same time.

'Open up.' Zhenyuan mouthed to her, and indicated with his hands as well that she should open the window.

Mia immediately shook her head. She wasn't going to let someone who had almost bit her back inside the house, and he looked even more terrifying with the blood.

'Please!' Zhenyuan begged audibly this time. 'This is important, I'm not gonna hurt you!'

Mia hesitated. She wanted to see him and hear what he had to say, but she couldn't trust a vampire. Aunt Kiki had already warned her that she shouldn't meet Zhenyuan again, and it seemed she would be directly disobeying her if she had done this.

To be safe, Mia grabbed her garlic necklace and put it around her neck. She didn't know if garlic even worked on vampires or it was a myth, but she put it on anyway. She slowly opened the window and stood near the door.

Zhenyuan immediately jumped through the window and landed in her room.

'Stay there.' Mia told him as he attempted to come closer.

The person he loved was treating him like this, a certain reminder he didn't belong here. Zhenyuan nodded.

'Look, I'm leaving, forever. But your life might be in danger.' Zhenyuan told her. 'You have to be very careful in the following days, because the vampires may be after you.'

'Me?? Why?' Mia asked with a surprised face. 'I didn't do anything.'

'It's hard to explain.' Zhenyuan decided he wasn't going to take his time explaining to her everything that had went down in the past weeks. 'Just know you have to be careful. But then again, you're a vampire slayer's descendant, you'll probably naturally know how to handle vampires on your own.'

'I'm a what?' She asked with curiosity.

'Never mind, I hope that your mom will be okay by the wall.' he told her. 'In fact, she will. Yeah I'm pretty sure she will.'

'So where are you going?' Mia asked, concern now growing in her voice. Even though Zhenyuan was dangerous, she wasn't ready to hate him just like she hated every other vampire. Zhenyuan had been a good friend to her for most part when he was there.

'I don't know.' he answered honestly.

'Why not join your vampire friends so that you be with your vampire family or something? Isn't it possible?'

'It is, but I kind of misbehaved. Being around humans changed me so...it was hard to fit in with my own kind.' he admitted rather painfully. 'Anyway, I have to go.'

'Wait, you should probably wash your face and change your clothes. If you're going to a place you don't know, you might as well clean up.' She advised him.

Zhenyuan nodded. Mia pointed to her bathroom and he walked over to it obediently. He opened the door and walked over to the sink, then looked himself in the mirror. He didn't know that he looked this bad. He looked like someone who had been battered, and he probably was. Zhenyuan opened the tap and started to clean his face with water he had scooped into his hands.

He cleaned his face until there was no traces of blood, then stood up straight and took a deep breath. He kept thinking about where he was going to go now. He could have moved to another city, but he was too dangerous to be among humans. He needed to go to a place where he could be alone.

While Zhenyuan was still thinking, Mia walked in with a fresh shirt. She no longer had the garlic around her neck, proving to Zhenyuan that she had become a little more trusting.

'I brought you your shirt, took it from your room.' Mia said as she handed it over to Zhenyuan.

He nodded and took it from her, then started to change from his bloody t-shirt. Mia blushed at his shirtless body which displayed his muscles, almost forgetting he's a vampire.

Once Zhenyuan had finished, he nodded to her. 'I guess I should get going now.' he started to walk to the door then stopped. 'And one more thing, I really love you. Good luck with life.'

Mia looked at him with a sad face. She didn't want to say she loved him too because he was a vampire, but she found herself saying it anyway. 'I love you too. And thanks for being a good friend.'

Zhenyuan smiled at her, then suddenly pulled her into a kiss. Mia was taken aback before she melted into it. Even though he was a vampire, she had a feeling that his love was real.

He finally pulled away and smiled, before walking back into Mia's room while she followed behind him.

'Goodbye,' Zhenyuan said before he left.

'Bye,' Mia answered in a teary voice and watched as Zhenyuan jumped out of the window. The moment she looked outside, he was already gone.

She closed the window and hoped he would be safe wherever he had decided to go. But a part of her still wished he would have stayed.

Zhenyuan ran away aimlessly, hoping he was going to find a place to stay somewhere far away from everyone. He hoped Mia's family would be safe, because he knew a gruesome battle between humans and vampires was going to start soon.
