"I'll do it." Eren said. "I don't know if I can seal the breach or not, but... I'll do it."
Pixis smiled then stood up. "You really are a man." He said happily. "Well, let's get started."
"Get started on what?" Asura asked.
Pixis didn't answer, but he strode toward the edge of the wall and looked down at the crowd below.
"Getting a plan together." He replied.
Asura could hear the panic in everyone's voices below. It wasn't hard to figure out why.
"They're scared." He said. "I don't blame them, but we need to get them ready."
"I agree." Pixis replied. "Care for a drink?"
Asura held up his hand to politely decline.
"Alcohol dulls the mind." He said. "No offense, sir."
Pixis chuckled.
"None taken. Leave the rallying to me. You lot try to figure your plan out." He said.
Asura nodded and walked over to Mikasa, Eren and Armin, kneeling down so they could talk and strategize.
"Tell me we have a plan." He said.
"Sort of." Armin replied. "The rock in the center of Trost is large enough that it could seal the breach. Eren in his Titan form will lift the boulder up and bring it to the gate and seal it in."
"Right. Afterwards we'll start mopping up the remaining Titans." Asura added. "Desperate as it is, it's our best... and only shot at pushing those bastards out of Wall Rose. But..."
"But?" Mikasa asked.
"This plan has to work." Asura said. "If the Titans manage to get past Wall Rose, the food shortages will only get worse. If this plan fails, humanity will starve. People will kill each other for what scraps remain, and the Titans won't have to do anything. Not a happy outcome I know, but that's what's gonna happen."
The group were silent for awhile.
"But." Asura said, breaking the silence. "I know this can and will work. What you need to have a controlled transformation Eren, is a goal, something you can set your mind to. Focus on getting that boulder to the breach and closing it."
"Asura..." Eren began. "I... I don't know if I can do it."
Asura placed his hand on Eren's shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile.
"You can do it Eren." He said. "I know you can. I believe in you, bud."
Armin's eyes widened as he finally figured out Asura's reasons for not volunteering himself. Asura's Titan was strong enough to carry the boulder. After all, he threw a house at the Armored Titan and stopped in its tracks.
He wanted Eren to do it, because he believed in him.
A small smile crossed his face, and beside him, Mikasa was also smiling.
"Alright." Asura said. "Let's go over the plan one last time. Armin, let's go over the beginning before Eren comes in."
After awhile of going over what they had at the moment, the group prepared themselves for combat. Asura checked his gear and grimaced.
"Shit. This thing's defunct." He muttered.
"What's wrong?" Mikasa asked.
Asura grabbed the engine of his ODM gear and tossed it to Mikasa.
"I took a hit from an Abnormal before I transformed. Fucking thing crushed the gear during the fight." Asura replied.
Mikasa looked at the broken gear. It was indeed broken beyond repair, but parts could be replaced.
