-Quick disclaimer: For those wondering, the Feral Titan's design is inspired by the Wendigo of Native American folklore.-
-Trost, during the evacuation.-
"TAKE ONLY WHAT YOU CAN CARRY! PLEASE BRING AS FEW ITEMS AS POSSIBLE!" Asura shouted.
The evacuation was going slower than expected. With merchants trying to take their goods with them as well.
Asura had to toss their wares onto the ground and explain to them all repeatedly that the boats were only taking civilians and not baubles that could easily be replaced.
There were many bribes that were shot down... and maybe some threats as well.
His injuries weren't helping the situation at all, as they made him far more irritable.
Asura was currently in the process of letting some children onto a transport headed for Wall Sina.
"Okay guys. This boat'll take you to safety. Your parents will be right behind you, I promise." He said reassuringly. He stepped away from the boat. "This one's full! Get it going!"
The boat started moving, and headed to Stohess District.
"SOMEONE! HELP! PLEASE, MY DAUGHTER'S STILL OUT THERE!" A woman screamed.
Asura walked towards the distraught mother, wincing as he did so. "Your daughter. Where'd you see her last?" He asked.
"N-Near our house. When the Wall was breached, w-we must have gotten separated! Please, find her young man, she and my son are the only family I have left!" She sobbed.
Asura put a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I'll find her. You have my word." He said. At that exact moment, all the pain vanished, as he looked at the boy standing by his mother.
"You scared, buddy?" He asked.
"Uh-huh." The boy replied. "Are you, mister?"
"Yeah." Asura said. "Stay strong for your mother. I'll find your sister and get her back to her family."
Asura stood up and sprinted back into Trost.
(I won't let another person lose family! Never again!) He thought. Memories of his parents flashed before him. Memories... of a happier time. (Never... Again.)
After a few hours of searching, Asura heard faint cries coming from under a stall.
He checked the stall and found a little girl, scared out of her mind. It was the woman's daughter.
"Hey." He said quietly.
The girl yelped and tried to shrink further into her hiding place.
"Don't be scared. It's okay." Asura said, soothingly. "I'm here to get you to safety."
"I-I want my Mommy!" The girl whimpered.
"Come with me. I can take you to your mother and brother. They're waiting for you at the boats." Asura said. "It's okay. C'mere, take my hand."
The girl inched closer to Asura. Slowly, she reached out to grab Asura's hand and soon she did.
Asura gently pulled her out of the stall, and knelt to look at her in the eyes.
"Okay. Let's get you to your Mommy, huh?" He stated.
Tears started flowing from the girl's eyes as she felt a sense of safety with Asura around.
"Y-Yeah." She hiccuped.
The two made their way to the evacuation area, but soon came across some corpses. The little girl gasped.
