The Demon continued to broadcast its challenge to any Titan that heard it. However, the Mysterious Titan ignored the Demon in favor of killing more Titans.
Mikasa, Armin and Connie spotted two Abnormals running towards the Demon, who saw them as well.
The Demon roared at the Abnormals but remained unmoved. It pushed off the ground, and stood on its hind legs reaching 17 meters in height.
The three behind the Demon looked on as one of the Abnormals drew closer to the Demon.
The Demon glared at the Abnormal, but stood its ground.
As soon as the Abnormal got within striking distance, the Demon brought its hands together and slammed them into the Titans head, crushing its skull and snapping its neck in two.
The Demon punctured the nape to make sure it was dead with its claws.
The other Abnormal continued sprinting at the Demon, but it rushed forward and bit into its neck.
The Demon skidded to a halt as it held the Abnormal in its jaws. It bit deeper, before it launched the Abnormal at a building, tearing its nape out in the process.
It then chucked the nape at another building, then roared in triumph. It started heading towards the three humans that it had inadvertently saved.
"Okay. I think we should get outta here, now." Connie whispered. "Before that thing decides to eat us!"
The Demon let out a low growl as it neared the the group. When it got close, it leaned in and sniffed the group.
Mikasa looked shocked as the Demon's hard gaze seemed to soften. As if it recognized them.
It lowed as it moved away from the group, before it started to look for more Titans to kill.
"WAIT!" Mikasa shouted.
The Demon stopped and looked at her, waiting for her to say something else.
"We need your help! We're low on blades, and almost out of gas. We need to resupply at the Headquarters over there!" She said.
The Demon looked at the castle, and saw Titans all over the building.
Its gaze hardened before it nodded to Mikasa.
The gesture surprised the group. "It can understand what we're saying!" Armin exclaimed.
The Demon leaned its body into the building they were on, and gestured to the group to get on it's back.
Though hesitant, they got on it's back, surprised by how coarse its fur was.
The Mysterious Titan threw another Titan into a building, before it landed blow after blow onto its face and crushing its nape.
The Demon looked at the Titan and its eyes widened.
It recognized its scent.
The Demon shook its head. It had other things to worry about right now.
It lowered its stance, and a few seconds later broke into a galloping sprint.
Connie almost fell off if Armin hadn't caught him, but they were all surprised at how fast this thing was.
The Demon kept sprinting to the Headquarters, but a group of Titans were in it's way now.
It skidded to a halt and roared at the Titans in front of it.
Something suddenly sprang into view from it's back, startling Connie, Mikasa and Armin.
"Quills?" Armin wondered.
