Realisation of doom

Everything was going well. The rescued were coming in, normally in small groups, and those manning the medical station we're doing a good job of "healing" and caring for the HUC members.

Izuku himself was acting as coordinator, and also as a pin-pointer. If a group was having trouble figuring out exactly where a trapped HUC member was, then his improved senses meant he was able to locate them much more accurately, and also meant Jiro and Shoji didn't have to move, which would have disrupted the rhythm they'd fallen into.

Of course, nothing is never that easy, and Izuku was reminded of that when the "villains" attacked. Being a high ranking hero, Gang Orca was nothing to be sniffed at, but with a large amount of men who appeared to be holding some kind of cement gun, they'd really need to pull out all the stops.

Luckily, it seemed 2 of the most capable members arrived at the same time. Both Todoroki and Yoarashi appeared to hold off the "villain" until the medical station was far enough away.

However, it seemed neither of them actually wanted to pass the test, as they did everything they could to not work together. Izuku was almost impressed with the level of effort they put into not helping each other in anyway. Anytime Todoroki would shoot out fire, Yoarashi would dispel it with his wind, deliberately or because he simply didn't care, Izuku didn't know.

He was getting more and more frustrated with the 2, and eventually he couldn't hold it in. "What are you 2 idiots doing!? If you don't work together then both of you are going to fail!" The 2 turned to him, both seeming uncaring, so he sent them another glare each, and it seemed that was enough to at least let them stop getting in each other's way.

He ushered the last few fake victims to the new position of the medical station, and then watched as finally Gang Orca was taken down. It seemed Yoarashi and Todoroki had formed some sort of fire tornado, and Izuku almost felt proud for both of them if this wasn't a test to get their licenses. A true hero couldn't let grudges get in the way of their work, so they should've been working together from the start.

Bakugo and a few other examinees quickly took out any remaining "villains", bringing an end to the test. Izuku finally felt like he could take a breath after the stressful exam, but for some reason a glass wall rose up, blocking anyone from getting in or out of the testing area.

The tired voice blared out once again. "It seems something has triggered our security features. Civilians should remain calm, it's probably a glitch." For the severity of the situation, the man didn't seem very interested, but at least he wasn't talking about taking a nap every sentence.

Suddenly, the presence from before flared to life again, much much larger than before. Izuku froze, then slowly turned, watching as goop appeared to melt of the girl from before, only to reveal Toga. At least he knew her quirk now, right?

He was doing his very best to not breakdown, coming face to face with the people who had kidnapped him. Although they hadn't caused much physical damage, they all seemed to have taken great joy in mentally torturing him.

He shook his head, trying to stem the flow of traumatic memories, now was the not the time.

Next to Toga, a swirling portal appeared and out of it stepped the villains known as Magne, Twice, Dabi and Mr Compress.

This was very not good. It seemed others had started to notice the emerging villains, including Aizawa in the stands. The League must have triggered the system deliberately to stop any pro heroes who may be present from interfering.

Izuku didn't know if he was still legally allowed to use his new quirk, having been specifically told to not use them when it had ended, but he really didn't have much of a choice, he'd have to live with the consequences, but at least he'd still be alive if that happened.

It seemed Bakugo and Todoroki had a similar idea, having had closer interactions with the league. It seemed most of the other students were shocked and confused, but they did their best to protect everyone, Todoroki put an ice wall around the villains to keep them in the area, but Dabi soon melted it, and leapt at them, stapled and flaky skin warped into a smile. Compress also ran at them, releasing some marbles of what appeared to be shrapnel, causing them to dodge, splitting them up and leaving them open. Dabi sent more fire, obviously trying to keep them separated. It was at that moment that 2 Togas came towards him, one with a knife at the ready. They giggled as one swung at him, the other merely kicking at him.

At least he now knew Twice couldn't copy weapons.

As he kept dodging, realising that everyone else was focusing on getting away from the fighting, he heard a certain explosive blonde release a torrent of swears, as well as a massive blast. Izuku watched as a certain scared villain got blasted up into the sky, unconscious, only to be caught in swirling portal once more.

That distraction would be all they needed.

He felt a pain bloom in his gut, looking down to see a grinning Toga with a knife jammed into him. A drop of blood feel from his wound as he stared at it in shock, which she lapped up. If he want so focused on the pain, he may have thought it was revolting. He managed to kick her away, knife still embedded in him, and stumbled back. He knew he couldn't last long like this, especially in a fight.

He would have to use it, even if he didn't know how it would react to the injury. For the first time, he consciously tried to transform, and soon, he stood on 4 legs in his new Panther form. The knife was still in his gut, which was good. It meant it would take longer for him to bleed out. He leapt at the stunned Togas, ripping into one of them who quickly turned to a mud like substance. He bashed into the other, managing to knock her out. He knew he could kill her, but he still had some morals. She was soon collected by the portal user, and Izuku let off a light growl, he really hated that guy.

It seemed Twice had been taken out by Bakugo, who was now fighting Magne, with Compress taking on Todoroki. However, the both seemed to still at the same time, and Izuku saw they were both wearing some sort of communication device. They both leapt back, soon being enveloped by the mist too. He heard Bakugo release another torrent of curses, but everything sounded muted for some reason.

Then he remembered he had a knife in his gut, and reverted back to his human form. Unfortunately, his weak arms couldn't support him any more, and he almost fell right onto the knife, which would've pushed it into his gut even more. Instead, he turned slightly, only pushing it in a bit more.

He still let out a pained gasp, and then Bakugo seemed to notice him, his swear words being cut off.

The last thing he heard was a shout from Kacchan himself. "Izuku!"

Then the pain overwhelmed him.
