CHAPTER 3
Ryuk.
Ryuk a Shinigami that you met in a bathroom. Were the shadows shinigami all along? You were alone now, no signs of Ryuk, though he said he would come back after he checked something. Y/n sat on their bed, tired from the events of the day. Y/n regretted their choices. Why did they look at the book? Y/n could have lived an everyday life.
Or the things that could be considered normal.
They sat on the bed. There was no point in thinking of it anymore. Y/n felt a shadow in their room, or was it a Shinigami? It wasn't Ryuk; they decided to ignore it. They shouldn't make any more stupid decisions. Right now, Y/n needed a nap.
Y/n woke up to the sound of a person talking. Usually, people would assume it was a family member being too loud. The thing was that Y/n left everyone behind. Y/n had no one left to talk this loud in their apartment. With this, Y/n woke up looking for the cause of the noise. It was coming from the kitchen. They came face to face with Ryuk holding a red apple right above his mouth.
He stopped.
Y/n stopped.
They said nothing and sighed. Ryuk crackled as he ate the red apple. Y/n thought he was going to choke.
"Hello, human." Y/n ignored him. Maybe if they pretend nothing happened yesterday, he would think it was his imagination.
"Don't go ignoring me now! We just stared at each other," which was true, but Y/n wasn't going to give him the pleasure of seeing them embarrassed.
"I'm tired, talk to me later." Y/n was surprised by their confidence, or was it them trying to find something comforting in the situation. Either way, Y/n made your way toward the kitchen cabinet to get their breakfast. After all, they did have school today. There were five more months before school ended, where everyone was attempting to get to the best university. Thankfully they didn't lack the brains to get themselves to a good university. Something they were grateful for since it was a great way to start living an ordinary life.
Y/n finished their breakfast and got ready for school. Which Ryuk surprisingly left for. Since Y/n assumed he would follow them everywhere. Getting to school was peaceful, something that was rare for Y/n. They thought that it was because Ryuk's appearance scared other shado- shinigami as well. Maybe letting Ryuk stay was the key to an average life? Y/n stole a glance at Ryuk, who was floating beside them, staring off into the distance. As if he felt their staring, he glanced back at them, tilting his head in a questioning manner. Y/n quickly looked away, not willing to share the reasoning for their actions with the said shinigami.
"Hey...I forgot to ask earlier, but what's your name, human?" Did he seriously forget to ask for their name?
"Y/N Tenshi," he hummed as he looked at the top of their head when he suddenly stopped. Y/n assumed they had something there, in a state of embarrassment. Y/n wiped the top of their head only to find nothing. Y/n was confused. What was he looking at?
"Tell me can you see numbers on the heads of people?" What type of question was that, of course, they couldn't! But then again, they could see auras, so maybe it wasn't that crazy.
"No? I can't see...numbers on the heads of people…." Y/n awkwardly stated. Was it something important?
"Can you see anything other than myself?" He asked. Y/n was only growing more confused. What did it mean for him to know?
"I can see others' aura? It's more like their intentions. Everyone has their body surrounded by red hues and tints." Y/n explained. Ryuk only hummed when he began walking again. Y/n followed his lead. Soon enough, they made it to the classroom, where Y/n got their books ready. The day proceeded the same as always; Y/n could only hope that those five months came faster.
|| This was the development of their relationship^ if your wondering what happened in the bathroom, nothing much. Y/n had to go back to class once they realized how long they were gone. And the book that fell from the sky was long forgotten.
Y/n just wanted a normal life...
