Months went by, and Ryuk seemed to bother them less and less. To the point, it appeared that he was no longer part of their everyday life.

Y/n didn't get attached.

They didn't expect him to be the type of person or, well, shinigami to leave someone alone without something in return or something along those lines.

Then again, Y/n didn't know a lot about Ryuk.

Ryuk was the one who seemed to learn more about Y/n. It was odd that he seems so intent on knowing their everyday life. Maybe he was bored. That's what Y/n assumed. It seemed to be that he finally grew bored of them. It hurt slightly. Y/n never had a real friend since everyone thought they were mentally ill. Y/n made a mistake in their old town by telling others they saw shadows, the word got around, and people gradually stopped talking to them. It was a hard time. Even their family seemed to disregard their existence.

Y/n should have known something like this was going to happen. Y/n knew that this new start would have challenges along the way, but they forgot to expect the throb in their chest. The beating they got so used to in their earlier years.

Y/n had to put this behind them; there was no point in thinking of the people of their past. They were not worth the time and effort. They will give Ryuk the benefit of the doubt since he was the closest Y/n would call a friend. Either way, Y/n was on their way to take their entrance exams for university.

The ranges of auras were suffocating; they smelled of anxiousness, courage, and tiredness. The need to throw up suddenly came through. Y/n hurried off the building where Y/n would be assigned what room to take their test in. As they got situated, Y/n eyes met the ones of a sleep-deprived man.

His gaze was intense. His aura had a bright sparkle. He glimmered brightly in the dimly lit building. He took their breath away.Y/n had never seen an aura like his, there have been ones with slight similarities, but he was different. It was odd, Y/n knew he was trustworthy, but they couldn't help but want to stay far away. Y/n quickly glanced away. Y/n could feel his eyes linger for a bit longer until they finally left their frame.

|| So yes there was a time skip, 4 and a half months to be exact. During this time Light and Y/n are still in high school I believe (?) Though I'm not to sure that why I left the description of the school vague.

And during the 4 and ½ months both
Y/n and Ryuk did get closer! But as a rule of the death Note, Light would be able to see Ryuk, and he wasn't about to miss that chance. So he slowly became less and less present in Y/n life. He honestly tried to meet up with them more, but Light wasn't to nice about it.

He kind of regrets letting Light have the book. Sometimes the thinks about giving the book to Y/n so that they wouldn't be too far apart. <3
