Internally freaking out was a skill that Y/n had suddenly become an expert in. Ryuk had made his appearance known to her about fifteen-ish minutes before the exam started. Just why was he here? It was unexpected and she mentioned it offhandedly to him once about a month ago before he started to flake out on her.
While it surprised her to see him, she couldn't help but let a spark of anger run through her veins. Just why now out of all days? The moment when she needed absolute control, he decided to make his appearance and jumble up all her emotions. It just wasn't cool. she steadied her expression, no one here deserved to see her in a moment of weakness and neither did Ryuk after the whole fiasco this morning, although he was unaware of the turmoil he put her through.
She was confident that she would succeed, paranoid and anxious but still confident. She tried to ignore Ryuk as her eyebrows unknowingly furrowed in slight anger. But she couldn't help it because now all she could think about was all the time Ryuk left her after making her think he cared.
So, what if he had something stopping him or even worse something he thought was even slightly more important than her
He should try harder to stay by her not anyone else or something else. How could she trust someone so easily persuaded?
She slightly leaned over the desk as she gently placed a hand on her heart, trying to calm the overwhelming pressure of emotions wanting to burst out. She thought she was a kind person, a sensible and giving person. But that clearly wasn't the case especially when it came to things that were rightfully hers.
'I'm just overprotective, it's not my fault I feel like this' she chanted continuously in her head. She slowly straightened her back as she calmly waited for the exam to be passed to her. It was beneath her to think like this. She had been told by many what she was is and isn't. But she was the only person who would know her best. So, Ryuk didn't matter anymore at least for now.
People said there was no such thing as perfect, so then why did she exist?
Ignoring Ryuk was doing wonders to her mental state enough for her to wonder if she should keep it this way. But he was making it excruciatingly hard for her to do so fully. He was twisting a turning bending upside down and pleading for her attention. But he could wait just like she had many days ago.
With the exam beginning all nervousness slowly left her body as she calmy looked at the exam in confusion.
"was this really it? Isn't this bit too easy?" she couldn't help but question. All her studying was useless when all of this was known to any high schooler.
"I guess I can take this slow since there's no rush" she slowly filled out each question as she finished at a little under the one hour mark. There was still an hour left for others to finish the exam, and she lazily tuned her exam to its back away from prying eyes.
