Chapter 47: The How and the Why 7/7

Jake felt himself go cold. In that moment his hidden relationship with Sunghoon  was revealed. He could hear Jungkook smiling smugly behind him. A tidal wave of different emotions and feelings washed over him in that instant. Worry - his secret was now revealed, Anger - how could Sunghoon have being so careless, Shame - he no doubt looked like a fool with red blotches on his neck and Humour - as there was undoubtedly a funny side to all of this.

Allowing himself to prioritise making light of the situation, Jake galvanised himself enough to glance over his shoulder and look at Jungkook. Before Jake got the opportunity to turn he felt a strong hand grip his shoulder. "Well I think we're going to have ourselves a little conversation" Jungkook said.

"We are?" Jake asked, caution obvious in his voice as he looked up to see Jungkook's eyes gazing down at him.

"Yup!" Jungkook said, before retracting his hand and siting atop Jake's bed.

"Um... what is there to talk about?"

"Hmmm, let's say several things..."

"Such as?"

"That you're in a relationship with the neighbour's boy and that you've felt the need to keep this relationship a secret. We might also need to have the birds and the bees talk too if you haven't had that yet"

"I know what a condom is!" Jake protested, prompting a laugh from Jungkook.

"Sure you do!" Jungkook allowed himself a laugh at Jake's expense, "But that isn't what I meant"

"It isn't?"

"Nope, but we'll get to that in a moment. However, first - Sunghoon?"

"What about him?"

"You tell me? Why?"

Jake looked at him blankly, sure he understood the insinuation but he didn't know the answer. Scratching the back of his head he spoke, "I'm not sure really, he was just sort of there and he became someone I could trust and rely upon..."

Jungkook cut him off, "...Aww. So who made the first move then?"

"Um" Jake thought to himself, "That's not easy to answer"

"Why not?"

"Because I sort of did, but it wasn't meant to be a move - things just kind of happened"

"Things?"

"Well, I don't know - what consists a First Move. When I kissed him we were friends and it wasn't meant to mean anything?"

"But it did?"

"Actually, I'm not sure. I suppose, afterwards Sunghoon changed his approach to me, he became more relaxed, more open and it just sort of went from there"

"Ah, when it becomes increasingly attractive to keep revealing more and more about oneself. Everyone likes shedding secrets."

"Shedding Secrets?" Jake repeated the phrase, "I suppose that's what happened and, I think I trust him"

"Think? It's binary, you either do or you don't. Seeing as he knows you're called Jake I'd wager you trust him"

Jungkook's assertion made Jake smile. "I do and...  it's nice and I'm fairly certain he trusts me"
