THOSE words that came from her mouth was pure bliss to him, her gentle touch calmed him down as if all the weight from his body faded away in an instant. coming from a stranger he hadnt known for even a month, it sure was a mental slap as no one ever from his life has said such kind words to a being like him. a feeling that he had never felt was like heaven in the clouds making him somehow crave for more.
"shut up" he muttered, looking away in embarassment as he scratched the back of his head, his anger from earlier completely gone as it never happened in the first place.
her small figure sat beside him, having a little distance in the middle as she tilted her head to the side, expecting another one of rindou's harsh words and attempts of pushing her away yet she expected nothing. a sign to let her continue of what she was saying from before.
"rindou, did you do that?" she asked calmly.
"no"
"okay"
his head snapped back at her with the wtf face, probably questioning every question that has entered his mind at how easily she accepted that.
"just like that?"
"uh huh, well it came from you, not from ran, the tv, and the people. its better to ask you directly than be concieved by everybody who doesnt know the full story." she reasoned out, staring at the shimmering star as her eyes did the same as if it were a reflection, almost getting lost, rindou snapped back at the straight direction and scoffed.
"tch whatever, believe what you want." he rolled his eyes as he glanced at the girl again, this time their eyes met as rindou felt an unusual feeling build inside him.
"of course i do, i believe you," she repeated again, "and besides i have a better question to ask you." she chuckled softly.
"what?"
"why did you get me glasses?" she asked, taking off her glasses that rindou gave and admiring it from every corner.
"tch! 'cause i want to! i hate seeing you look bump into damn people its embarassing." he looked away adjusting his posture, his chin now resting at one of his knee.
"oh yeah, thank you." he side glanced her again, this time she pulled a sheepish smile, scratching the back of her head with a small laugh.
"we should go inside, your face is turning red from the cold." she stood up, brushing herself off and expected him to do the same yet he just stared into nothingness, then quickly snapping his head to her as if he was offended.
"my face aint red! bullshit!" he spat yet it was obvious that his face now has a reddish tint to it which the girl replied with a soft laugh.
looks like shes encountered one of rindou's side that she has never seen before, it was so rare seeing him defensive and trying to deny it makes it ten times funnier. his hand covered the half side of his face as she could tell he was a little embarassed. but what did she expect? he was still a young teen like her, with mixed emotions that nobodyreally understands.
"you should go, ran is probably waiting for you." he avoided eye contact and stared at the blue sky again, this time naomi sensed sadness from the looks of it so she sat back down to her spot, since she couldnt just leave rindou alone, dealing with a big problem when you only have yourself is difficult physically and mentally, memories started to enter her mind yet she dismissed it immediately since it was a little irrelevant yet she set a mental goal to herself to atleast help rindou though it, even if he didnt want to.
"well, he can wait for now." she replied, giving the male beside her a soft smile, making him look away again frowning.
they stayed together in silence as they watched the stars twinkle above, for the first time rindou actually felt peaceful than being awkward even though she didnt say a word. he have always thought that silence was defeaning yet this girl changed his mind drastically because of the unusual feeling she was giving him. he felt during those dark times in his life he finally got to have a quiet moment to just think nothing, yet he's doing it with the girl that he swore to despise.
"you know, its okay if others dont believe your story. some people just listen to the stories around them about you but dont actually listen to you." she broke the silence as rindou was listening quietly. "but if theres one person that believes in you then theres nothing to worry about since not everyone could be on your side." she added her voiced laced with sadness.
he could feel the sorrow just from her voice yet she still pulled a soft smile that never left her pink lips. he couldnt tell if she was about to cry but she kept her cool and sighed softly, their eyes meeting again after the both of them turned to each others side at the same time. the male keeping his bored expression, well he tried. as he wasnt the type to ask questions and also give his opinion but just listened, and somewhat understand.
"its not fun being alone you know, but ran is always there with you even though you two fight like its world war three already. its normal to have misunderstandings. but if he doesnt believe you then let him, he'll soon realize that." she kept going again, her happy yet sad expression not leaving her face as she fiddled with her fingers. the lone habit that both of the brothers noticed from her.
"what are you? a mother?" rindou pathetically laughed but it turned into an awkward one as naomi only stared at him with seriousness.
"of course not! i just learned that from my dad...." she looked back down at her feet, he obviously noticed the sudden change at the mention of her father yet he chose to keep quiet since he didnt wanna deal with another problem again.
"well no time for backstory! lets go home!" she flashed the fakest smile rindou has ever seen and stood up. yet the male just stared at her completely as she extended her arm, offering to lift him up, he laughed mentally as he thought that she still didnt realize what type of people they were, as much as he hates it, he still gave her his hand.
their touch met, her hand started to feel warmth that somehow gave a gentle feeling that couldnt be explained. she held it tightly as rindou stood up, his gaze not leaving their hands as a quiet atmosphere was formed again. it lasted about 3 minutes of silence before naomi awkwardly took back her hand from his touch, looking everywhere but him as they both realized the sudden interaction they did.
"you should wipe your glasses, its kinda fogged up." she pointed only for rindou to roll his eyes and took off his round glasses that were similar to hers. almost like he meant to buy those for her so they could match.
as rindou's attention was cleaning his glasses, in a blink of an eye her body was now infrontof him closely. his figure froze as her feet tiptoed, trying to match his height as she was a short as fuck but still tried. her hand pushed away her hair that almost covered her forehead as it touched rindou's. their faces were an inch only closer as the male couldnt find words as he only stared at the girl's lips while her gaze was on their foreheads touching.
"i think you have a cold, youre burning up!" she exclaimed as they locked stares. rindou's eyes widened at the sudden smooth move that she pulled on him. his mouth slowly parted about to form what he was about to say but the girls body was pushed away by someone.
"getting a little to close, are we?~"
