"DO we have to fucking wear this?!" rindou complained, eyeing himself from the mirror and the ugly pink metallic hat with the words happy new year was decorated infront. whilst the mastermind from all of this just kept making balloons as he rolled his eyes by his brothers childishness.

"yes. nami-chan will think its cute." ran explained as his usual long hair was in his now signature two braids as he also wore a hat but in metallic blue with the same words.

"its fucking ugly." rindou argued contemplating wether to take it off or choose naomi's happiness.

about to take it off, the door swung open as it revealed the girl holding plastic bags of food. she paused the moment she noticed the place with some balloons and streamers on the ceiling that were placed everycorner along with the two men who stood infront of her with matching colored hats, also holding two balloons as they awkwardly looked at each other.

"suprise!" the two exclaimed with big smiles though it was obvious the one coming from rindou was a bit fake.

the sight couldnt help but make her lips curve in a smile at their unexpected effort, as she was walking towards them ran suddenly pulled out a lone slice of cheesecake with a strawberry on top as theyve remembered that they couldnt celebrate her actual birthday because of tenjiku business. also noticing the girls lack of energy and smiles lately from the things that happened on late december, it completely drained her happiness as she only tried to hide it with a fake one.

rindou stuck a small candle on the cake as he lit it up with a lighter, ran holding it infront of the girl as the two males sang a short happy birthday song yet stopped midway because they werent in sync, this made her laugh at their efforts once again as it was also the first time she ever saw them like this.

"why arent you blowing the candle yet?" rindou impatiently crossed his arms whilst the girl closed her eyes, probably wishing for something thats bound to come true as the two watched her.

"how about me instead?" the moment she fluttered her eyes open she met glasses guy that whispered near her ear. immediately making her cheeks flush pink as ran smacked the back of his head.

"what did you wish for nami-chan?" the older asked smiling as she blowed the small candle, a small smile was plastered on her lips as she shook her head no at the two of them.

"its a secret." she winked and turned her back on them leaving them stunned as she didnt want her wish to not come true, and theyve said that if you tell it to somebody then its not gonna work.

unless that somebody is your wish.

the three ate rather quietly as they didnt bother going outside since it was fairly expected that many people will be there, and that naomi specifically wanted for them to just be at home and eating yet ran on the other hand got some plans on his hands that was far better than just inside their home.

"look nami-chan, i got us some sparklers!" he excitetedly showed the pack of the sticks to the girl as her eyes lit up at the sight.

"i've never done this before." she smiled rather sadly, the memories of her tragic childhood flashed before her eyes. in the new years she would rather spend it with junko, or by herself watching the new years eve concert on the tv as her fellow relatives were always out of town. just leaving the unwanted girl alone, celebrating by herself.
