"NAOMI-chan! you looked like you've seen a ghost! what happened?!" hayako's worried voice suddenly broke the silence that overtook the empty staff room the moment the younger waitress almost tripped trying to rush there.
her delicate face paled as if it was paper as her breathing became somewhat unstable, still trying to sink in that she just met the two people she had history with today. it was rather awkward and unexpected as she didnt want to overthink the fact that she actually have met again.
the loud music was still blaring outside as she sprinted away when she heard those familiar voices. she couldnt help but collapse on the floor as it worried hayako even more, seeing the new girl so frantic and possibly having an anxiety attack.
"drink some water, here. i already talked to yuna. i'm sorry about her attitude though, did they say something to you?" the older female lend the girl some water and tried to reassure her by placing her hand on her shoulder, after a few minutes of quietness naomi finally calmed down and came to her senses.
"yeah just got a scolding, its okay though."
"i was literally praying for you! that was the bonten that you just served!" she exaggerated the bonten part as if it was the biggest deal. "didnt you know that theyre the number one criminal organization right now?!" she leaned closer and whispered at her bewildered friend. urging her to inform more.
"i heard it was just murder and stuff but i guess it was even worse, fraud, drugs, gambling and prostitution! they're bad news!"
those words and new info sparked naomi's curiosity even more about whatever they were doing when they separated. it saddened her that they were capable of doing something so awful but what did she expect, she knew the two wouldnt just live normal lives and still chose the path of being deliquents and as of now executives of a group who do bad things.
"thank you, hayako-san, you can go back to work, i'll stay here for a while." she gave her a soft smile, the older hesitated at first yet gave in as there was no excuse in slacking on the job.
the moment the staff room door closed she sighed heavily, hugging her knees until she was fully recovered though her reaction was rather beyond the normal, she still cant believe the two men who sat before her, judging from their appearances theyre most likely rich, a dozen questions started to corrupt her mind and the curiosity to ask them what their life was like after they got arrested.
she cant face them anymore, she felt like a traitor and an ungrateful bitch since they did what they can to protect her yet due to her lack of strength it got them in trouble and locked up in a young age. she cant face them. ashamed to the fact that she cant even bat an eye at them anymore, and the possibilty their plotting for revenge didnt leave her mind as theirs were even messier and confusing.
"what the heck?!" her thoughts were shattered as she was being lifted like a feather by strong hands, trying to move out of their grasp yet it just made it grip tighter. she froze on the spot as a deeper and masculine voice that was still familiar to her ears spoke.
"trying to run away again, sweetheart?" above she met eyes with violet ones, a lazy smirk crept up to his lips. naomi finally got the chance of examining him up close, his hair was now short thats gelled to the side, she guessed he really prefered having to colors as its now black and white though it still suited his perfectly sculptured face, also noticing his features were more mature.
"ran.." she whispered, looking away in embarassment as she couldnt still face him properly after the awful things she did that led to them being in juvie. a small gasp escaped her mouth when ran carried her bridal style, the smirk not leaving his face as he was too strong compared to her.
"can you let me go." she said firmly, the male furrowing his eyebrows at the nonsense as he scoffed.
"i'm not dumb to let you go again, nami-chan." the nickname bought her flashbacks, it has been a long while since she was ever called that as it somehow made her heart flutter.
she looked down frowning, whenever she sees his presence the flashbacks from the past will always pop to her head. constantly reminding herself that she basically almost ruined their life.
"where are you taking me?! i need to work!" she panicked as his feet began to move, probably going to exit using the back door.
the male gladly smirked at her, "you dont need to, nami-chan."
"what?! then where the hell are we going?!" he began to walk towards the back door as the girl didnt even bother to fight back anymore as it was futile. she was just as defeated as before but cant deny the male smelled good as fuck.
"to my penthouse." he answered, this time making her eyebrows furrow and mentally slapping herself after since judging from their looks they were probably as rich as the men who came to the place she worked at.
"you dont live with rindou anymore?" the name somehow made her guilt and sadness grow at the thought of him, the last time she ever saw him was literally him bleeding on the floor and forcing herself to not look back.
"nami-chan, we're adults now. we're not broke teens anymore." he informed, "though we see each other at meetings all the time we still hang out, we just dont live together since we cant keep up with our own personal shit." he added as she only nodded. trying not to melt away with his smell as it was fairly addicting.
"oh." she just mumbled, the thought of him doing far worse things than before suddenly flashed in her mind, those hands he used to carry her were dirtied with blood and possibly drug money. she cant help but overthink the situation and just be mad yet that was the last thing she should be worried about now.
"now, lets go to my house. we have a lot of catching up to do~" he smiled making her heart skip rapidly again, damn that smile. its been ages since he has seen him yet his charm and effect to her didnt change.
though deep inside she badly wanted to, she wanted the questions on her mind to be answered by not only him but the two of them also. ever since that day sleepless nights couldnt be avoided as she was too bothered at their whereabouts. her care never left.
upon opening the back door while in ran's arms, the moonlit sky shone from above as the white glitters decorated the sky. it led them so a small alleway since the use of the back door was mainly for taking out garbage and an exit for the workers.
as they were about to continue on, another familiar voice spoke from behind. ran stopped to his tracks as naomi felt her heart stop for a moment,
"taking naomi all to yourself, brother?"
