Clare woke up crying. Her heart had shattered. She was sad that she couldn't talk to anyone. When she got up her parents had told her that she could talk to the teachers and her best friend Elizabeth but she was not allowed to talk to any of her friends and other family. Her heart was still a little shattered but at least she could stil talk to certain people. Her parents tell her not to tell anyone about her punishment. If she does then she will be grounded for the entire summer.
When she gets to school, Elizabeth greets her. She pulls her into her arms then suddenly, she breaks down into tears. Her heart is shattered after the punishment that she was given last night. Elizabeth knew that she had to help Clare and she knew just how to do it'll.
She called her parents at lunch and they said that until Clare was old enough to live on her own, she was going to be living with Elizabeth and her parents. Because of the cruelty that Clare was suffering from, Elizabeth and her parents wanted to be sure that she was in a safe environment.
Later on that afternoon it was time for the big surprise party. Clare and her friends were ready. Now it was time to party! Everyone jumped out and yelled surprise and then the party began. Everyone had so much fun and it meant a lot to the teachers knowing that their students cared a bout them.
