The next morning, it was time for Clare to get ready for school. When Elizabeth's parents came to wake her up, she wouldn't wake up. The fear was intense. Tears fell as Elizabeth's mother stood over her.
Finally, Clare woke up feeling sick. She had a stomach ache. She felt sick and she didn't want to go to school. She didn't want the students to make fun of her again.
"It;s time for school." Elizabeth's mother said, I'm sure that your friends miss you. It will be fun to see them again."
Clare shed a few tears. Her heart was heavy with emotion. She didn't want to do anything today but lay in bed with a book and some ice cream.
"I don't want to go to school." Clare said, I was made fun of by the students. I don't want to risk that again. I want to stay home in my room where no one will make fun of me."
Clare was allowed to stay home for one day and Elizabeth's parents would help Clare resolve the problem, so that she wouldn't have to deal with a toxic learning g environment. They wanted her to be safe while she was at school learning.
While Elizabeth's parents were at the school to resolve the bullying problem, Clare was in bed eating ice cream and reading a book. She enjoyed it and she hoped that she would be able to return to school in a safe learning enbirement.
