Caro and Teagan were now sitting on a blanket they brought with them, waiting for Deana to get back with their breakfast. Since this was a smaller venue downtown, the queue was right on the sidewalk, so they had to all sit together in a line. Caro had Teagan on one side of her, closer to the front of the queue, and Calum on the other side.
The three girls introduced themselves to the group that was in front of them, after they met the boys standing in line behind them.
The two girls were Willa and Summer, and the boy, Ethan, is Summer's boyfriend. They got to know a little about them, they're from out of town, and all three of them are 20 years old. Caro and her friends are all 24, and the group didn't believe them at first.
"Where the fuck is she?" Teagan mumbles, fidgeting with the plastic water bottle in her hands.
"Be patient. She was nice enough to be the one to get our food." Caro tells her, trying to keep Teagan in a good mood.
"Because she already had to pee! How did she 'forget to use the bathroom' before we left?" She replies, dramatically throwing her hands in the air.
Caro doesn't respond, she just watches traffic go by as they wait for Deana to get back. When she turns her head, Calum is sitting next to her, and he's looking right at her.
"Oh, hello." Caro smiles, somewhat taken aback by how close he was sitting.
"Sorry, I can move." Calum mumbles, trying to scoot closer to Ashton.
Caro giggles, "It's okay, Calum. Just saying hi."
"Hi." He awkwardly smiles, acting shy all of a sudden.
Caro laughs at him, shaking her head. "So, you guys all from around here?" She wanted to make conversation with him, she wanted to try to leave this queue with at least one concert friend.
He nods, "Yeah, we all are. Are you guys?"
Caro also nods, "Yeah, all three of us, born and raised here. Only met ten years ago, though."
"You say only as if that isn't a long fucking time."
"It feels like it hasn't been that long. But, yeah. Then times like now I remember we were fourteen when we met, and being fourteen seems like it's thirty years ago."
"You guys are 24?" He questions.
"Unfortunately." She answers.
Calum laughs, "Why's that?"
"Who enjoys 24?" She replies, a confused look across her face.
He pretends to be offended. "I did, last year."
"Oh. Sorry!"
"It's not that serious, don't worry." He laughs, opening his water bottle and taking a sip.
When Caro feels somebody smack her, she groans, turning to see her friends.
"It was Dee!" Teagan says, raising her hands in surrender. Deana chuckles, handing Caro her food.
"You seem to be having fun with that Calum guy." Deana says, only loud enough for the girls to hear.
Caro shrugs, not sure what her friend was trying to imply. She really didn't want to get into it. She focuses on her breakfast sandwich in her hands, while Deana and Teagan discuss the band. She would add her input every so often.
"What time is doors?" Teagan asks.
"Six." Both Caro and Deana respond.
"Fuck, that's so far away!" She whines.
"Teags, you do this every time!" Caro laughs, shaking her head at her.
"Luke's the same way." Ashton adds, making the three girls turn to face the group of guys.
"Fuck off!" Luke exclaims, pulling his legs to his chest, curling up in his spot.
The girls focus back on their food, laughing at the group. Teagan finishes her food first and cleans up whatever mess they've made so far. She gets up, bringing everything to the garbage by the door of the venue.
As Teagan sits back down between Caro and Deana, she speaks up. "If I were to nap, you guys would make sure I'm fine, right?"
The pair laugh, but they both nod. Teagan would nap almost every time they queued for a show, no matter where it was.
Teagan smiles, resting up against the wall of the building. "Okay, goodnight, bitches. See you later."
