Clay has been in the health office for fifteen minutes now, his hands were wrapped, blood soaked the white wrap. A cold rag pressed against his bloody nose. George hasn't left. The only time he left the room was when the principal came in and told George to gather Clay's school things.

Clay has a week suspension. Only a week? That's new.

Now the two are waiting for his mother to pick him up, the nurse left to go help some kid in a classroom or something.

George cleared his throat, his mouth opening and closing like he wanted to say something but didn't know what to say. He cracked his knuckles, "Hey, uhm, Clay?"

Clay slowly looked up, still holding the rag to his face, "Yeah, George?"

The shorter looked at his shaking hands, "I'm sorry. If I wasn't so pushy to be your friend then they wouldn't have made fun of me and you wouldn't have been suspended."

Clay tilted his head, his blond hair falling infront of his eyes. He set the bloody rag on the desk and stood up, making his way to George, who was sitting across the room on a small blue bed-like table. He squatted in between George's legs and put his good hand on his leg.

"Hey, listen, you are the best thing that's happened to me in years. You hear me? You don't have to apologise for being my friend." Clay whispered, looking up at George. The brit covered his eyes with his left arm and shook gently.

Clay gently grabbed his arm and pulled it away from his face, George avoided looking at Clay, his eyes were red and tears were slowly falling down his cheeks. The blond cupped George's head in his hands and brought his eyes to his own.

George smiled, leaning his head on Clay's shoulder, trying to slow his fast paced breathing. Clay whispered quiet reassuring shit to the other, trying to calm him.

George was calm now and the two decided to brush over whatever just happened then.

"Hey, kid, your mom's here. George, go back to class." the principal peeked his head in before ducking out of the room again. Clay stood up, stretching. George got up and smiled, walking to Clay.

"Well, I'll see you in a week?" Clay said uncertainly.

"No, I can't go that long without seeing your stupid face." George smiled, wrapping his arms around Clay's neck.

Clay froze.

He was hugging him?

His hugs are nice.

He's so warm.

Clay wrapped his good arm around George's waist and pressed his head in the crook of his neck.

"Okay, goodbye, Prettyboy." George stepped back, breaking the embrace.

"Mhm, goodbye, loser." Clay picked up his black backpack and swung it across his shoulder, walking out of the room, "Stay safe."
