Part 5: library Friendships?

After meeting Walburgas portrait she retired to the library Remus was already there reading a book.
Natalia: Hey, may I join you?
Remus: yes of course.    
Artemis, what are you reading? 
Remus: Pride and Prejudice and what do you enjoy reading?    
Natalia: I enjoy just about everything. I am currently reading como agua para chocolate (like water for chocolate) Remus: You know spanish?
Natalia: yes mom side of the family is latina so mom taught me the language.
Remus: Is her family still around?
Natalia: No they were killed, Mom said that Voldemort was recruiting all types of creatures. They did not want to join so they sent my mother into hiding. Word came back that her parents were killed for refusing to join. 
Remus: Sorry for asking. 
Natalia: It is no problem. I didn't have the chance to know them so it is not like you're being insensitive. It is hard to feel sad over someone you never met dont get me wrong, it is sad what happened to them. It's just difficult when there is no bond to begin with.  
Remus: Well changing subject, how is school?     Natalia: School is good. I am ahead of my class.  Remus: how much ahead?
Natalia: I finished all my work for this current semester. Aunt Bonnie was a teacher there and well she talked to the headmistress there to let me finish all my work. Thanksgiving break had just finished and we were packing well more like I was waiting for her. She is always late. Sorry I am rambling, the only reason I was going back was to help her grade. We were about to leave when the death eaters arrived. You know the rest. I still need to finish my 2nd semester work though they didn't let me do it saying that I needed a break.  
Remus: You have Thanksgiving break? 
Natalia: I know and then it is winter break, too many breaks i think that is a reason why school ends in the 2nd week of june.
Remus: So you are a little swot at least now I won't be the only one.
Natalia: What can I say it comes to me naturally.
Remus: You should talk to Dumbledore. Maybe he will let you finish school early.  
Natalia: You think so as much as I like knowledge I would like it to be over and done. 
Remus: Any boyfriends left behind?  
The conversion was flowing naturally between. Remus wanted to know more. He couldn't stop, he needed her. Then he asked the question: does she have a boyfriend? He did not want to know the answer but he just couldn't stop himself. 
Natalia: No I don't have a BF do you have a girl?  Remus: NO !! sorry I mean no I am single.   At this Natalia was happy.  He was not seeing anyone she can get to know him and maybe take their friendship to a romantic one.   Meanwhile they were both so caught up in their conversation they did not notice Tonks watching the exchange between them.

Meanwhile Sirius was in his room reading a letter from harry:

Dear Padfoot,
I hope you're alright.
It's starting to get colder here. Winter is definitely on the way.
In spite of being back at Hogwarts, I feel more alone than ever.
I know you, of all people, will understand. Hope you're okay, the first week back here's been terrible, I'm really glad it's the weekend. We've got a new DADA teacher, Professor Delores Umbrige. She's nearly as nice as your mum.
I'm writing because that thing I wrote to you about last summer happened again last night when I was doing detention with Umbridge.
We're all missing our biggest friend, we hope he'll be back soon.
Please write back quickly.

Sirius needs to talk to Harry ASAP but it is hard to get him alone. Well might as well try now
Meanwhile in the Gryffindor common room: Ron- he is the world's biggest git! He throws the paper into the fireplace. When suddenly all 3 kids hear, watch it ! Ron Jumps startled.
Harry: Sirius!
Sirius: Right you are. Got your letter and although we should talk in person. He moves his neck around to see what was thrown at him by accident.
Sirius: What was that?         Harry: A letter from percy.      Ron: Yeah, full of his usual rubbish.
Hermione: Except he did mention that Dumbledore might not be in charge here much longer. Sirius: It doesn't surprise me Fudge wants Dumbledore out.  Harry: Why?   Sirius: He is worried he is trying to turn the students against the ministry.   Hermione: Well, that would explain why Umbridge is not teaching us anything useful in defense against the dark arts.
Sirius: Exactly the ministry doesn't want you trained in combat.          Harry: What does  he think Dumbledore is going to do, raise an army?    Sirius: That is exactly what he is worried about. Fudge is getting more paranoid about Dumbledore every  day.   Sirius: The others wouldn't want me telling you this, Harry... but things aren't going at all well with the Order.  Fudge is blocking the truth at every turn... and these disappearances are just how it started before. Voldemort is on the move.  
The trio share worried glances.   Harry: What do you know about Umbridge?     Sirius: She is a nasty piece of work. Apparently she hates part-humans.
Harry: could she be a death eater?   Sirius: The order doubts it. She is no picnic but she's no death eater either.    Harry; But she is evil.   Sirius: As to your question about Hagrid,well, no one is really sure what happened to him.He was supposed to be back a while ago.   Hermione: What?   Sirius: Dumbledore is not worried about him. Hagrid is tough, he will be alright.    Ron: But if he was supposed to be back by now ...    Sirius: Look, asking questions about him will only make it more obvious that he is not back.  
Suddenly Sirius looks around the wall of the fireplace.  Sirius: Get out of here!
Sirius vanishes. A split second later a stubby finger hand appears in the fire, groping for Sirius head.    
The 3 kids run towards the dormitories.
In the boys dormitory, Hermione: He really is out there, isn't he?  We've got to be able to defend ourselves.And if Umbridge refuses to teach us how, we need someone who will.
