Part 8: Full moon confessions and chances

Remus did not arrive that day nor the rest of the Christmas holidays. Nat left,but before leaving she left a letter in his room. Remus arrived after the new year trying to recruit for the order was becoming difficult, especially knowing that Voldemort was promising them that they will be equal once the war was over. He couldn't wait to see Nat. He missed her and her comforting scent of roses and strawberries. He got to his room and noticed a letter from her.
Dear Remus, hope your quest went well. I wanted to be here when you arrived but I had to leave for school, do not worry I will be back. I will be gone for a month. I miss you and your hugs. They are the best Te amo mi hombre lobo.

Remus: she knows I can't read Spanish (chuckles) , looks like I have to ask her when she comes back. I miss you too little one.
In the almost 2 months that Nat has been here. They have been inseparable. They have even come close to kissing. Remus always held back, he was afraid that she might reject him or worse not feel the same and blamed their bond on the wolves. Tonight was a full moon. He hated those nights. He became a monster. She at least was a demi wolf and didn't suffer when shifting.  He was now in the basement getting ready when he heard footsteps approaching. The door opened, and there she was with a smile on her face looking at him.
Remus: What are you doing here? Little one I am about to shift.
Nat: Well, last time I checked I am a wolf too. I phase in my animagus form and I wanted to be with you today to help you with the transformation. Maybe I can help you shift without pain.
Remus: how did Regulus do it? he didn't hurt you or your mother, that meant he was able to control the wolf am I right?
Nat: You're not wrong he shifted with no pain. He told me to speak to my wolf and accept her and instead of fighting it to understand her that she was there for a reason. Also to not see them just as monsters but as protectors. That's what they were before society decided that they were a threat. people fear what they don't understand possible yet magic exists. I mean look at this way your bones rearrange and your face molds to that of a wolf scientifically is not possible for the human body to shift yet here we are with wolves, veelas, goblins, giants, centaurs, and any other possible creature out there. In pack wolves fight to protect humanity from Vampires it is the balance in nature and magic one cannot exist without the other. Like darkness cannot exist without light.It all comes back to Balance.
Remus: There are Vampires?!
Nat: Yes they are descended from veela magic, kind of the same yet different.(has a distant look on her face)They atleast don look like Harpies. If werewolves exist why not vamps? Now back to our previous conversation, I know that some of your old pack is gone but padfoot is still here. A piece of that old pack is still there, but by extension Harry. Harry is also part of your pack because he is a part of James and lily. Hermione might not like me but she sees you as an uncle so she is pack as well,you are not alone. The marauders were your pack, they were the reason  your transformation was less painful now imagine your pack and your mate at your side no pain at all. Remus was processing what she was saying then she told him the reason why Regulus was able to have painless transformations. Her mother and her along with their dear friend Bonnie was his pack. It was small yet comforting and familiar.
Nat: Moony has added members to that pack now it includes Harry,Hermione,Ron,Padfoot and I. Do you not feel it?
Remus just stares at her in a confused state
Nat:Remus you have to listen to your instincts more talk to Moony he feels and knows what you do. Stop fighting him and understand him. The bond as a pack is very important, it can keep everyone safe and alive. become one with him, you are both one and the same. It is almost time the moon is rising.
Remus: why are you here?          
Nat: I missed you and asked professor Dumbledore if I can come for today he said yes, so here I am. Also because Umbridge is driving me nuts.
Remus: Thank you Nat.         
Nat: You're most welcome and thank you for calling me Nat ot tasha Artemis is way too hard on finding  a way to shorten it. You know we will eventually have to address the elephant in the room regarding our feelings
Remus: Nat I.       Remus never got to finish ( I have been calling Artemis, Nat for friends, saves me some time) Nat looked out the window and saw the moon at its peak. Remus was again fighting the shift.
Nat: Remus and Moony listen to my voice, breathe Remus, talk to him and try to understand him.
Moony: Why should I listen to the human little one if he has been nothing but ungrateful and always tries to blame everything on me.
Remus: Ahhh he  won't listen(he said in between breaths)   
Nat did the only thing that she knew would distract him and calm him. She kissed him, Remus and Moony stopped arguing. She was kissing them and she tasted like honey and strawberries. At this they both stopped fighting and gave in to her kiss unknown to Remus the rest of his transformation was complete and painless. Nat kept kissing Remus even in wolf form and suddenly she shifted into her animagi. The moment she changed the kiss broke and they spent the rest of the night playing. Once it was time to change back, Nat left for a corner to give Remus the privacy to shift back( he was in his boxers when she arrived) Sunrise was already happening and she could hear Remus shift back to human without a problem.
Nat: Remus how do you feel? Remus looks towards her. He sees that her back is towards him.
Remus: I feel good, actually great. I have no pain. I don't even feel exhausted.
Nat: That's good. I am happy I was able to help you(says shyly).  
Remus: I have my clothes on you can turn now.  He saw that she was blushing. Remus walks towards her, lifts her face so that she is looking at him and kisses her. The moment their lips touch they feel their magic bond.
Remus: You know what this means right, our magic is meshing. 
Nat: Yes I do and I accept this bond. Do you accept it?               
Remus: How can you want me? I am old enough to be your father. 
Nat: please don't. I knew you were my mate when I saw you. What we feel won't go away just because you're afraid Remus. Give us a chance. I understand that we haven't known each other for long but I want to give us the chance.                            
Remus: I am too old for you, too poor....too dangerous. 
Nat: Remus stop running away. I don't care about any of that. I love you.
Remus: you don't see it now but with time you will and I don't want you to live the way I do.
Nat: Just one chance let's get to know each other more and go on dates. I want everything with you.
Remus: ok we will give our bond a chance.
Nat: thank you thank you
Remus: I have been meaning to ask, in your letter you wrote something in Spanish I would like to know what it means.
Nat: It means I love you my man wolf.
