"As I said to your son earlier, any information about the prosthetics is strictly confidential. Without the client's consent, I simply can't help you," said the doctor for the umpteenth time. "We can't get consent if you don't give us a name," said Five, getting more and more annoyed by the second. "Well, that's not my problem, sorry. Now there is really not more I can do, so-," the doctor said. "What about my consent," interrupted Klaus. "Who gave you permission," he continued, beginning to fake cry, "To lay your hands on my son and his lovely girlfriend," finished Klaus, pointing at Five then me. Five looked at Klaus with confusion, not seeming to notice what Klaus had said about me, while I blushed beet red. "What," Five, the doctor and I asked at the same time, Five and I looking at each other in confusion, my cheeks still red. "You heard me. He is such a sweet little boy, and that girl is going to be my daughter-in-law someday," said Klaus conclusively. "I didn't touch your son and his girlfriend," said the doctor, while Five and I looked away from each other awkwardly. "Oh really? Well, then how did he get that swollen lip then? And how did she get that gash on her forehead," asked Klaus, standing up. "They don't have any inj-," the doctor was interrupted by Klaus punching Five fully in the face. He then slapped me across the face, leaving a gash on my forehead where his ring cut me. I froze up as the years of trauma blew over me like a tidal wave. I just turned and ran away to the academy. I went to the room where Five was, sat down in the corner of the room, and started crying. My heart was beating insanely fast and I started sweating, my tears mingling with it. My hair fell onto my face, making everything dark. I then proceeded to count backward from 100 in threes, wriggling my fingers and toes around till I calmed down.

When Y/N left, I wanted to go after her, but I had a task to complete. Just as I decided to stay, Klaus smashed a snow globe on his head. Klaus then called security and started threatening Lance. I smiled at how deviant my brother was. Finally, his over-dramatic attitude was coming into use. However, my happiness was short-lived as I found out that the glass eye had not been manufactured yet. "Well, that was not good," I said as we left the hospital, Y/N already a distant thought. "I was pretty good though, right? "Yeah. What about my consent, bitch?"," said Klaus, laughing afterward. "Klaus, it doesn't matter," I said, annoyed with the results of all this work. "What? What? What's the big deal with this eye, anyway," asked Klaus. "There is someone out there who's going to lose an eye in the next 7 days. They're going to bring about the end of life on this Earth as we know it," I said angrily.
"Yeah, can I get that 20 bucks, like, now or what," asked Klaus after a beat. "Your 20 bucks? The apocalypse is coming, and all you can think about is getting high," I asked, getting ready to cut off a few heads out of frustration. "Well, I am also quite hungry. Tummy's a-rumbling," said Klaus, looking at the ground. "You're useless. You're all useless," I replied, exasperated. "Oh come on. You need to lighten up, old man," said Klaus as I walked away from him and sat down on the stairs in front of the clinic. "Hey, you know, I've just now realized why you're so uptight," said Klaus. I waited for a stupid comment. "You must be horny as hell! All those years by yourself. It's gotta screw with your head, being alone," he continued, confirming my suspicions. "Maybe get with Y/N... I mean, she's cute and just as sarcastic and smart as you... she's actually cool too, unlike you," mused Klaus, making me internally roll my eyes.
"I wasn't alone, Klaus," I said, not wanting him to talk about Y/N anymore. I didn't want to feel guilty about letting her leave like that, it would interrupt the mission. "Oh? Pray tell," said Klaus, successfully distracted. "Her name was Delores. We were together for over 30 years," I said wistfully. "Thirty years? Oh, wow. God, the longest I've been with someone was... I don't know, three weeks. And that's only because I was so tired of looking for a place to sleep," said Klaus, droning on about his life. I teleported out of there and into a taxi. "Don't stop," I said to the driver. I saluted Klaus goodbye while he yelled about his money. "I'm coming for you, Dolores," I muttered under my breath

After some time, I looked up to check the time. I knew that Vanya had a class today so I couldn't go home yet. I noticed that the room was extremely messy for some reason as if they all flew and then landed randomly. I didn't remember the room being such a mess but shrugged and started cleaning up. Once the room was back to normal, I started walking around the house. I went upstairs to the attic. I opened the door and saw Allison sitting on the window sill, smoking a cigarette. I tried to leave without being discovered when Allison turned towards the door. "Hi Y/N," she said, smiling a little at me. "Hi," I said, smiling back.
"Are you stressed about something," I asked her, cautiously walking into the room. "Nothing you need to worry about, Y/N," said Allison, sighing. "Well, you can talk to me if you want," I said, sitting on the sill next to her. "I just miss my daughter, Claire," she replied, taking another puff of her cigarette. "Well, I am sure you'll meet her soon. And I am sure she misses you too," I said, trying to comfort her. A few tears slipped out of the corner of her eyes. Not knowing what else to do, I pulled her into a side hug. We just sat quietly for a few minutes. "Thanks, N/N," she said, smiling at me, her eyes still wet with tears. "No problem Allie... I like the nickname," I said, making her smile wider. "I like that nickname too... reminds me of Claire," she said. Allison wasn't that bad, she was actually kind of sweet. Maybe having a kid changed her, though, and she became more understanding. "Can I stay here for tonight? It's getting late and I don't want to go home while it's dark out," I asked Allison. "Of course, N/N. Just take Vanya's room," she replied. I smiled to thank her. I went downstairs to call Vanya. "Hey mom," I said into the phone. "Hey, sweetie, how are you," asked Vanya, sounding happy. "I'm doing well, I just wanted to inform you that I won't be coming home tonight, I'll stay with the rest of the academy," I said to her. The happiness in her voice dissipated instantly as she just replied with, "Oh?" "So mom, I'll be going. Good night, I love you," I said. "I love you too, sweetie," she said before cutting the call abruptly. I felt a feeling of abandonment well up in me, but it was probably just guilt for leaving Vanya alone at home. "There you are, I've been looking all over for you," said Allison, walking down to corridor. "Hi N/N, you should come too," she said to me. "What are you still doing here, I thought you were gone," said Luther, who I hadn't noticed while I was talking to Vanya. "I was gonna go, then Pogo showed me this-," Allison was saying before being interrupted by Luther apologizing. "Jeez, Luther, would you shut up? Not everything revolves around you. Just listen to Allie," I said, rolling my eyes. "Thanks, N/N. You were right about dad, Luther, come see this," she said, grabbing my hand while going up the stairs. As we walked down a corridor, I saw Five climbing up another flight of stairs. Dam, how big was this house?
"Five? What the hell happened to you," asked Allison, looking at his disheveled state. "Are you okay? Can we help," continued Luther, looking at Five with concern. "There's nothing you can do," said Five grabbing Luther's hand. "There's nothing any of you can do," he continued, glancing at me for a second longer. In those beautiful green eyes, I saw sorrow so deep, no one else in the family would understand. He looked like he was living a nightmare, and the look on his face suggested he was having flashbacks to a hard past, just like I did. I realized the depth of the wound the impending apocalypse left on him.
I saw myself in him.
