Suddenly, the building started to shake. Five and I ran out of the room, me grabbing my backpack on the way. "Yo, what the hell is going on," I heard Diego ask as we walked out into the corridor. "It's mom," I replied. I could feel the foreign power throbbing under my skin like a sort of the second heartbeat. I was beginning to understand why these random flashes of power were happening, why it seemed like Vanya and I were supernaturally connected, why I sometimes felt emotions that weren't mine, why stuff blasted when I was upset. I had gotten her power.
"We need to get to safety outside the Academy," said Pogo. Diego started to leave along with Klaus, as Luther said, "Don't forget Mom." Five drew the shape on my hand. I nodded, and we disappeared. We landed around one block away from the Academy. Five and I ran back to the Academy. Five picked up the newspaper for the day. "Guys. This is it. The apocalypse is still on. The world ends today," said Five as soon as we reached the burning remains of the building. "I thought you said it was over," said Luther. "I was wrong okay? This newspaper, I found it in the future the day I got stuck. The headline hasn't changed," said Five, brandishing the newspaper. "No that doesn't mean anything," said Diego, shaking his head. "The time could have been altered since that newspaper came out this morning. "You're not listening to him. When he found it, he probably assumed this place came down along with everything else. But here we are, the moon is still shining, the Earth is in one piece, but not the Academy," I said, understanding what he was saying. "Exactly. Vanya destroys the Academy before the apocalypse. I thought Harold Jenkins was the cause, but he was the fuse. Vanya is the bomb. Vanya causes the apocalypse," said Five as we heard helicopters. "We have to find her," said Luther. "Yes we do, since you became the fuse," I said angrily. Luther didn't reply. "We gotta go, now. Regroup at the Super Star, go," said Diego as the helicopters came closer. Five grabbed my hand and made the shape. I nodded and the burning pile of rubble disappeared. We reappeared in front of a bowling alley.
"Seriously," I said, rolling my eyes. We went to one of the alleys with enough seats for all of us. Five sat down, and I sat down next to him, cuddling into his side. He wrapped his arms around me, kissing my forehead or stroking my hair (if possible) every few minutes. I assumed he was just trying to comfort me, so I suppressed the butterflies I felt in my gut. Soon, all the members of the family had gathered. After everyone had settled down, Luther said, "Look, I hate to be the one to say this, but everyone needs to prepare." "For what," asked Diego as Five placed another kiss on my forehead. "To do whatever it takes to stop Vanya," said Luther, making Allison hit him with her notepad. "We may not have a choice Allison," said Luther, making Diego say, "Bull shit. There are always options." "Like what," asked Luther, making Diego shrug. "Look, whatever we decide, we need to find Vanya. And fast, because she could be anywhere," said Luther, standing up. "I think I can help with that," I said, speaking for the first time in the discussion. Everyone turned to look at me. "I think Vanya and me, we're connected. I can feel what she's feeling, I have gotten her powers from her. I can try to locate her," I elaborated. "Okay, do your thing, doll," said Diego. I closed my eyes. I could hear music, and I saw an auditorium with a huge audience. I opened my eyes and said, "She's at her violin concert."
"Hello," said an unfamiliar voice, making all of us turn to see an employee. "I hate to intrude, but my manager says if you're not gonna bowl, you gotta leave," she continued, looking around at each of us. "So, should I bribe her, or should I bowl," I asked. When no one replied, I sighed, grabbed a bowling ball, and bowled it without looking. "STRIKE," said the computer's voice. I then took my bag and pulled out a 20 dollar note. I went to the manager and said, "Don't bother us," I said, a scary expression on my face. He took the money from my hand secretly and I went back to sit with the rest. They all looked at me in shock. "What," I asked, confused at their reaction. "That was the most badass thing I have ever seen," said Klaus, looking at me in awe, just as Luther said, "That was illegal." "Back to the matter at hand, bitches," I said, sitting back down next to Five and curled up beside him. Allison wrote, "She's our sister," on her notepad. "We're the only ones capable of stopping this. We have a responsibility to dad," replied Luther. "This dad is the reason why this is happening in the first place," I snapped. "I'm with Luther on this one. We can't give her a chance to fight back," said Five, making me turn to him angrily. "P/T/O/E, it's what you said. We have to do a cost-benefit analysis," he said, trying to explain himself. I sighed and said, "Maybe you're right. But I think we should try to calm her first, and not lock her up in a room," I said. Five kissed my forehead again before smiling in agreement. "Guys, maybe I could help," said Klaus, making us all turn to him. "Now is not the time," said Luther, making Diego say, "No, let him finish. He saved my life today." "Yeah, yeah I did... take credit for it," said Klaus, and I understood immediately.
