Kai’s POV

Before I knew it the seven of us were aligned against the seven of Clark's team. The school grounds were cleared and a huge audience sat on the bleachers screaming and shouting. Coach Hensel stood between the two teams with a whistle ready in her hand, and the countdown started.

Three!”

“Two!”

“One!”

And a high pitched whistle blown by coach Hensel rang in my ears. It has begun!

The crowd's cheers became louder as all of them transformed into their super forms except me of course ,there was an obvious change in their appearances. And now I could also see each of their abilities.

Ashons’s black black-maroon hair had gone full dark crimson the same color his eyes were right now and he was in a white suit bordered with red outlines and a flame symbol on his back, fire manipulation.

Conner’s black hair was now light cyan and he was in a suit that was white and blue and there was a water droplet symbol on his back, water manipulation.

Ally's ginger hair had streaks of green and her suit was shades of green, plant control.

Brianna’s blonde hair was now a shade of gray and her eyes were grayish-blue, her suit was light and dark gray with blue details and an air symbol on her back, Wind manipulation.

Lexi’s suit was yellow with tiger and leopard prints on it, she had also grown some whiskers and a tail, her pupils resembled feline eyes and her hair a dull yellow colour, animal transformation.

Kyle's eyes were bright hazel and a skin tight bright lime yellow suit stuck to him, his chestnut hair had yellow streaks and there was a speed symbol on his back, superspeed.

Clark and his team also transformed. Clark's suit of course was … grey and a bit of white with his dirty blonde hair now slightly silver, on his back was a lightning symbol, thunder control.

All of this happened in a blink of an eye and the next second they clashed into each other, some in their defence stance others in full-on attack mode.

I was the only one who was still not in their superform but  before they could notice they were already busy fighting, some flying in the air and some on the land.

Before I could think of anything else I felt an arrow pierce through me though there was no blood or anything coming out but damage was surely done. Everyone had hearts, seven hearts and with each attack and its severity hearts were lost and when there were no hearts left, you were declared out, almost like a video game except this time I felt pain running through my body. I lifted my wrist to see I had only five hearts left. Refusing to fall on my knees I turned around to see a girl floating in the air with a psychopathic smile plastered on her face. As if she had found just the perfect helpless prey. She had two white electric arrows ready in her hands aimed at me, electric control, huh?

"you don't seen to have transformed yet honey"

"You don't need to worry about me" I smirked to hide my pain and regained my posture.

"oh no! You don't need to worry about me worrying about you, I just wanted a fair battle but I guess I'll be able to eliminate you without even raising my finger!" she mocked as she released one of her arrows at me. I closely dodge it and start running in the other direction and she chases me flying a few feet above the ground.

Another arrow misses me by one inch. In front of me was an obstacle wall, there were many of these things throughout the grounds. I turned to see if she was still behind me but she was not, I ran towards the wall and took cover behind it. Just when I was about to breathe a sigh of relief I saw Clark's lightning aimed towards Brianna and Brianna making a huge cyclone to defend herself. She was obviously struggling.

"Kai, a little bit of help here- wait, why aren't you transformed yet?!" she managed to say while maintaining the cyclone for her defence.

"I-

"You can't fight like this" Kyle came to us in a blur using his superspeed and helped  Brianna by attacking Clark from behind.

"I am-

" Kai! Why aren't you in your superform!? You'll get hurt" this time it was Ally, she was growing green wines around a girl trying to hold her in place.

"I was just saying-

"Stop fooling around and get serious Kai" Ashton looked down from the sky as he shot fireballs at his opponent.
Why does this person keep interrupting me!

"Before yall freak out I need to tell you something... I'msorrybutihavenoideawhatmyabilityis" I blurted out... Well the cat's outta the bag.

Everyone stopped whatever they were doing, even Clark and his team stopped attacking us for a minute and stared at me while I gave out an embarrassed sheepish crooked smile. If my life was a TV show, those awkward crickets sound effects would be perfect to be put right about now.

Their eyes grew as big as a tennis ball and their jaw dropped on the floor.

"I can explain-
Before I could finish the sky turned black and dark clouds replaced the sunny day earlier. Well this was not normal. Lighting struck just behind me leaving a burned spot on the green patch of grass.

"Was that you Clark?" my voice involuntarily shakey.

"I swear it wasn't me," he says, lifting both of his hands in the air, gesturing that the lighting was not caused by him.

Before I could say anything more a dark creature soaring in the black sky. It was Huge. Gigantic wings that could blow a car away, it was black just black not even a hint of gray or any other colour totally void like somebody cut it out of black paper. I wasn't even sure if anything inside him I mean literally anything it was nothing but empty. A black empty void.

It grew closer and closer creating huge waves of wind and disturbing the trees around us. Before I knew it a black ball came towards me but I ducked just in time and it narrowly missed me and struck the wall behind me. And it vanished, not damaged, not crushed, not turned into dust, but it vanished, simply vanished.

I was horrified and I realized a couple of things … First, whatever this was, it's definitely not on our side. Second… my chocolate that is stuffed in my pockets is melting from all the heat of this situation.
