Y/n woke up early. It was finally the day where it all would come to an end, putting an end to her misery. It was the day where she'd finally avenge her family.
She got dressed quickly, making sure others were asleep before moving to the hot spring. After the last incident with Taehyung, she had made sure to get her chores done without anyone around.
She sat down on her bed, drying her wet hair with the towel. As she did so, a strange feeling settled in the pits of her stomach. It was as if something bad was about to happen. She was reminded of the Grand Master's warning that she should be the one killing Seth and it confused her even more. Wasn't Prince Ali the one to do it? She wondered if the warning was to be interpreted in a different way.
She opened a box, taking out the small vial with the special medicinal potion. She put it in the pocket of her dress, for now, figuring it would come in handy later.
By the time she made it to the training area in front of the house, the boys were standing ready, waiting for her. Master Sam was also present, looking at all of them with a glint of pride in his eyes.
"You remember your roles, right?" She asked, eyes moving over each of them.
"Yes!" They cried in unison. They had really good teamwork.
"Good," She continued, "Remember you are Princess Catherine's bodyguards and will be arriving early to the Palace of Aurora for inspection purposes."
"Aren't you coming with us?" Namjoon asked.
"Not yet," She shook her head. "I've got some matters to handle. I'll see you there."
"Are you sure?" Yoongi asked, worried.
"Don't worry, I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself." She gave them a small smile, "Now, off you go. Be careful on the way."
"No, not yet," Jimin stopped them, eyes shining, "we're missing something important."
"Group hug!" Hoseok exclaimed, jumping around and gathering all of them together. Y/n suppressed a groan when Jin dragged her too in the hug.
Boy, was it going to be difficult to part with them. They had started to grow on her.
"Go," Y/n said firmly before anyone could protest after pulling apart.
The boys made their way towards their horses but Jungkook stopped, taking Y/n's hand in his.
"Will you be okay?" He asked, eyes searching hers.
She smiled at the man she liked. "Yes. Now go, don't make them wait."
"I'll see you there," He grinned, kissing the top of her head that left her blushing.
He waved her goodbye, a lopsided grin on his face that caused butterflies to erupt in her stomach. As she saw them all disappear beyond the gate, her soft expression hardened.
You are dead today, Seth.
She thought and turned back around to go inside the house.

The way to the palace was not too long, it was situated in the heart of the kingdom. The building stood tall and proud, walls made of marble and glass that reflected the light. Jewels of various shades of blue adorned several parts of the palace, the majestic beauty of it making anyone stare at it in awe.
"Are you ready, guys?" Taehyung asked, making his horse come to a stop with others.
"We have to be, we can't lose today," Namjoon said, tone lacing with both worry and determination.
"Spoken like an intellectual," Jungkook joked, trying to lighten the mood.
"Shut up, Jungkook." The rest shushed him in unison.
When they made it to the entrance of the palace, the guards stopped them, asking for their identities and invitation cards. Yoongi handed them the seven pieces of paper, his hand shaking a little. The entire thing was forged, courtesy of Y/n's contacts so it was naturally something to worry about. They just prayed that the guards wouldn't pick out the issues.
The guard inspected their papers with a scrutinizing look on his face, eyes narrowed.
"All good, sir?" Jin asked, masking his nervous tone to the best of his ability.
"Huh?" The guard looked at them before looking like he had an epiphany, "Ah, yes. All of you are so good looking, I got lost looking at your pictures."
The boys sighed in relief. The guard moved, allowing them to enter the palace.
"Weird man," Taehyung commented once they were out of earshot.
"I mean he wasn't lying though," Jimin shrugged, "I wonder if we'd have other people fawning over us too? Imagine people, especially women, looking at our pictures and feeling like they're in love."
"Maybe in the next life, hyung," Jungkook said cheekily.
Tying their horses in the stable, the boys strolled around the outside of the palace, the gardens specifically where all guests were supposed to wait. Men and women dressed in their finest were socialising, trying to build their contacts. The boys, however, had another purpose. As decided earlier, they separated in a group of three and four to gather information.
Jungkook, Taehyung and Namjoon snooped around one section of the palace, counting the number of guards and analysing the security. The rest of them looked for alternate entrances and other things that could come to use if they had to escape.
"Hey!" A voice called and the three of them froze in their tracks. Were they caught already?
A different palace guard had stopped them who was looking at them suspiciously. He quickly walked towards them, eyes sharp.
"You look new. Who are you?" He said, looking at their navy blue dress shirt and white pants, a common uniform that Y/n had insisted on them wearing. It was apparently the costume that defined Princess Catherine's kingdom.
"We-uh, we are Princess Catherine's bodyguards." Namjoon replied stiffly, intimidated by the bulky man.
"But Her Highness hasn't arrived yet. What are you doing here without the Princess?"
"We were instructed to look around for Her Highness's safety. We are following her orders." Jungkook replied.
Before the guard could question them further, a crowd had gathered as a carriage made its way inside the gate. It looked grand in its light pink shade, carried by horses as white as the snow.
A lady stepped outside it, assisted by a guard. Sunlight completely covered her face and from where the boys were standing, they couldn't see her face. But they knew that it had to be a princess because only she would look so elegant and expensive at the same time. She had worn a soft coral coloured gown, so soft that it moved with the breeze. Pieces of fabric spiralled around her arms, her jewellery glittering in the sunlight that fell on it.
When the lady moved a little ahead to shield herself from the sun, the entire crowd gasped, including Jungkook.
"Princess Catherine, ladies and gentlemen," Someone said but Jungkook couldn't be bothered to find out who.
Y/n looked breathtakingly beautiful as if she was made to be a princess. Her exposed skin looked so soft, contrasting her midnight black hair that fell to her back in waves. Her cheeks were dusted in the lightest of makeup, her full lips painted a shade of cherry pink.
"Is that Y/n?" Taehyung whispered, looking as marvelled as Jungkook.
"She looks ethereal. Is that really her?" Namjoon asked.
Jungkook couldn't reply. He stared at her like she was the only person in the room. His heart ached when he realised that they really did belong to two different worlds. He couldn't be with her, no matter how much he wanted to.
And that fact shattered his heart into pieces.
