The night had fallen. It was time to execute the plan.
Jungkook dragged himself behind Y/n and the boys, still heartbroken. He hadn't talked to her at all, even when she tried to. She must have realised that he didn't want to speak for some reason so she gave him the space.
That was Y/n. Always considerate of others.
"Is it time?" Yoongi whispered.
"Shh, we need someone else too," Y/n whispered back and knocked on a particular door in the palace. Apparently, all guests had been given rooms in and around the palace to stay till the engagement ceremony the next day. They hadn't met Seth yet, he was apparently busy with what he called 'state affairs'.
Thank goodness the real Princess Catherine wasn't there or she would be signing up for a lifetime of loneliness.
"Hey Y/n," Ali opened the door and stared at everyone. Jungkook felt his insides churn in jealousy, especially at the way he was looking at Y/n.
"You know what to do, right?" She asked him.
"Yeah," He said, closing the door gently behind him. He was dressed in an all-black outfit, he could easily be mistaken for an assassin.
Well, if he was Prince Ali then maybe he'd actually end up assassinating King Seth.
"Okay," She nodded at him, "I'll see you in the throne room."
Ali went in the direction they had come from, making Jungkook heave a sigh of relief. At least he wasn't around Y/n so his heart won't be bothered for a while.
"Let's go," Y/n said and they followed. Jungkook wanted to speak to her so bad and clear the misunderstandings he was having. What was her relationship with Prince Ali, really?
He shook his thoughts off, focusing on the real deal in front of him. Tonight, he had to be helping the Kingdom of Aurora to return back to what it was sixteen years ago. That was his duty as the noble prince of Scintilla.
Seth's room was on the other end of the palace, the largest among all the rooms. They had to cross multiple guards who were on night duty but they managed. A sleeping potion from the Valley of Alchemy worked wonders on everyone but them because they were wearing masks. So far, it was easy. The difficulty was getting the job done without alerting anyone else.
"Here we split," Y/n said, her hand gripping her sword tightly. "All of you need to move to the throne room, right now."
"Hold on," Taehyung said, "that wasn't a part of the plan."
"Yes, we were supposed to be with you." Namjoon agreed.
"Look guys," Y/n said irritably, her eyes looking about for any sign of danger, "you're Aurora's royal family's guards. Not mine."
"You sent Prince Ali on his own, anyway," Jungkook scoffed and Y/n froze.
"How did you know?" She murmured, her voice soft against the shadows of chaos surrounding them.
"Doesn't matter. The point is, we're going to be here with you." He said.
"Well since you know about the Prince then all of you should go to him," She said firmly, eyes challenging Jungkook.
They realised she was right. The boys hesitated before backing away and running in the opposite direction. After all, they were bound to the duty of serving the royal family and Ali was the prince.
