Summary of chapter 15 (due to tw):
Y/n and the boys, including Prince Ali, try executing their mission to assassinate Seth. In the process, Jungkook tells Y/n that he and the others know that Ali is the prince. She asks them to go and protect the prince because it's their duty but Jungkook doesn't leave. She asks him why and Jungkook reveals he's the Prince of Scintilla. Before she could reply further, an attack takes place with the nine of them against an army of soldiers. The fight results in Y/n getting injured and confessing her love for Jungkook while being escorted out of the chaos by Ali. Jungkook sees red after seeing her hurt and is determined to return tenfold of the pain Y/n went through.
Chapter 16
Y/n hissed in pain as she tried keeping herself conscious.
Ali looked clueless, frustrated. He had to find a doctor but there was no chance of there being one. Y/n's life was on a clock.
"Don't bother," She managed to let out, "Go ahead - "
"I'm not leaving you alone, no," He shook his head. He tore a piece of cloth from his shirt and wrapped it around Y/n's wound but it was huge.
"Ali," She whispered, "Please,"
"No, Y/n," His tears were clearly streaming down his face now, "how am I supposed to face the people without you by my side? I can't do this alone."
Y/n's heart broke. She had never seen Prince Ali that weak. She knew she didn't have much time left and while she had already accepted that, Ali had to do that too. Seeing how they never really got to spend time together in peace without their minds clouded with revenge, Y/n could see how she was going to regret it.
"Brother," She said finally, the words sounding so foreign to her lips and Ali's head perked up at her voice. "You know I love you, right?"
"Aria," He whispered, choking on his words. "Please - "
She felt the urge to chuckle but couldn't manage to do so. The pain was clouding her senses. But really, it felt like ages ago when someone called her by her real name. She was the real Princess Aria, she had always been. It was all planned, her meeting the boys wasn't accidental. It was a part of the huge plan Ali and she had created. To seek revenge for their parents.
"You trained me to be prepared," She inhaled sharply, feeling pain shooting through her chest, "for any situation. I have accepted this, brother."
"We were supposed to do this together, Aria," He said, broken. "I can't face Mother and Father if something happens to you."
"Brother - "
"I'm not listening to you, Aria," He said firmly, his expression changing instantly as he tried to pull up a strong persona. "I'm going to go look for help. Stay conscious, for me. I'll be back soon."
He pressed a chaste kiss on her forehead before taking off in search of help. Y/n sighed as she looked up to the ceiling from her position on the ground.
Mother and Father. Would they be proud of who she was today? She remembered the incident sixteen years ago like it was yesterday. She had been sleeping in her room when Ali had suddenly come in and swept her up in his arms. It was the first time she had seen him so panicked. He was her elder brother, someone who was always protective of her and always smiling at her. He was her hero, someone she was super close to. She loved him more than she loved their own parents.
Ali had somehow taken her out of the palace, not answering her questions but only muttering 'it will be okay.' She was four then, so she didn't realise what was happening. But when she saw the palace go up in flames just as they managed to escape, she had known. Her life had changed that day and she went to sleep, crying silently, every night after that.
