The Great Master was a man of great wisdom and possessed exemplary healing powers that were capable enough to heal an entire army wounded in a war. At least that was what Jungkook had heard about this legendary man back in Scintilla. It was truly an honour for him to meet this great man in person.
They walked on a path that curled around the house and led to the back where the Great Master was meditating under a huge banyan tree. He must have sensed their presence because he opened his eyes and Jungkook's breath hitched at his eyes twinkled with the knowledge of the entire universe.
They bowed in respect to the old man and he stood up from his position, slowly walking towards them with the help of his cane. He looked like he was over seventy years old yet he held himself with poise and walked gracefully, yet humbly.
"The seven heroes," The Great Master said in his deep voice, "welcome."
His eyes then flickered to Y/n and Jungkook could swear that they widened slightly before he masked his surprise. The two of them seemed to have a conversation of their own, leaving the boys confused.
"I'm Y/n, Great Master. I have been training these boys here for the mission." She bowed to him and the old man nodded, holding up his hand as a form of blessing.
"Ah yes, Y/n. Prince Ali did tell me about you." He replied. "I must say, you are quite brave."
"Thank you, Great Master. I'm honoured." She said with a smile.
"I suppose there is a reason for your sudden visit today?" He asked though it looked like he knew exactly what they were there for.
"I have a few questions that I need answers for, Great Master." Y/n began as the Great Master sat down on a chair that the man from earlier had brought out from the house.
"As you must have heard, King Seth intends to marry Princess Catherine next month on the 21st of November. We do have a plan, but it would have been easy if we knew who we were dealing with. We don't know anything about Seth and what he is thinking. We need your guidance, Great Master."
He leaned against his chair, deep in thoughts. Y/n maintained her calm expression but on the inside, she was trembling with fear and worry. It was true, despite her hatred for Seth, she did not know anything about how he had changed over the past sixteen years. This fact irritated her, she was going to go in battle and she had no idea of her enemy. She hated being clueless.
"King Seth is like a snake, sly and stealthy. He almost always has a plan and he is very cunning when he executes them, making sure that the situation is always in his favour. The man himself does not believe in fate, he believes in strategies. He makes sure that his enemies always lay their cards on the table so that he can use it against them. He is a skilled warrior, none of you will be able to match to his level in this short period. You need an alternative." The Great Master said.
"How? If he is skilled in fighting, how do we defeat him?" Namjoon asked.
"If you want to be victorious against him, you will need to use your intelligence and not your swords." The old man said simply.
"That is even more difficult than facing him on a battlefield. At least then we'd know what tricks he has up his sleeves than facing him blindly all the while relying on the hope that he doesn't know we're attacking him." Jungkook said, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
Everyone's eyes shifted to him as he spoke after being silent for too long but Jungkook stood his ground. He knew he was right.
Y/n nudged his side, her eyes telling him to shut up. The Great Master focused on him and he let a small smile take over his face as he got up and walked towards him.
"We humans have always relied on our strength to win great wars. While strength is important, we often fail to notice that it is a clever and a well-thought plan that ensures victory." He said, his eyes focused on Jungkook who felt nervous all of a sudden.
"Intelligence, my heroes, should never be underestimated." He continued, glancing at everyone who listened to him in silence. "If you want to win against Seth, you need to draw him in an illusion where even though a war has broken out, nothing seems to be happening in front of his eyes."
"An illusion?" Yoongi spoke up. "Do you mean to say that we need to use his own techniques against him? Attack when he is busy with something else?"
The Great Master only smiled in return.
"Thank you, Great Master. We have received our answers and we will be victorious." Y/n said and bowed with the others following suit.
"It is indeed rare to see young souls as brave as yours. May the Goddess of Victory be with you." He blessed them. He then turned to the man standing behind him, the man who had opened the door for them. The Great Master whispered something in his ear and the man nodded.
"You must be quite tired from your journey, you should stay back here for a few days. The Great Master would like to help you a little bit more for your mission." The man said.
"Thank you, Great Master." They said in unison.
"After so many years, the people of Aurora will finally see a brighter day." Great Master said, smiling. "With the return of the prince and the princess, Aurora will rejoice and the wedding will mark a new beginning for both Aurora and Scintilla."
"Wedding?" Jin asked.
"Years ago, I had blessed the wedding agreement between the Prince of Scintilla and Princess Aria. With Princess Aria's safe return now, the wedding will have to take place under no exceptions." He said.
Jungkook flinched at the revelation and Taehyung casted a worried look at him. If this was the case then Jungkook's mission would fail before it even started.
"No one knows the Prince of Scintilla, right? His identity and name had always been a secret for everyone except the royals because of the ancient prophecy?" Jimin asked.
That was true. Many years ago, it was prophesized that the heir to Scintilla's throne would meet death if his identity was made known. The solution to this problem was the marriage alliance between Scintilla and Aurora.
"Which is why this marriage is important for his life and the future of Scintilla." Great Master replied.
Silence hung in the air like a heavy sword. Jungkook clenched his fist, if this marriage happened then he'd be fighting for nothing.
"Anyway," the old man continued, "I believe you need some refreshments so Elizabeth here will help you with that."
A young woman approached them and bowed. She was tall and beautiful, her light brown hair hanging loosely around her shoulders. She wore a creamy white dress that flowed with the wind, gold adorning her arms and waist. Her dark eyes, however, seemed to be fixated on Jungkook.
"This is my granddaughter and she will help you get comfortable in your rooms." The Great Master said and Elizabeth gave them a sweet smile.
"If you will follow me, please." She said, her voice sweet like honey.
Y/n did not miss the way she looked at Jungkook and how she walked extremely close to him. An unknown feeling bubbled in her chest and she didn't like the way it affected her. Elizabeth was both beautiful and graceful, her skin soft against the rays of the sun. Y/n looked at her hands--they were calloused with the years of training and were no longer soft like they used to be. She clenched her fists and ignored the feeling before walking straight ahead.
