Ladies and Gentlemen, the time has finally arrived. Sixteen students will enter this tournament. Only one can emerge victoriously.

After all of the recreational activities and cheerleaders, it is time to get down to business. This is where we first-years truly leave our mark. I must do my best to conquer four rounds in this tournament. And now with my mentor in my corner, I am excited all the while.

Currently, I am walking with Soulius on our way to her suite.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I have formally introduced her.

A young woman with short, black hair, styled as a bob, with gradient blue to purple eyes. She stands at five-foot-four with quite the figure.

LaVelle Quarta, better known as the Number Two Hero of the United States, The Divination Hero: Soulius. One of the most powerful figures at that, which says a lot considering the country she resides in. She's a woman of duality - one moment she can be so well-mannered, cool, calm, and collected. On the other hand, she can be so strict and hardcore. One thing that never changes, she is dignified, and always exerts her sense of justice.

We reach the front door of the suite. Being a gentleman, I open the door for her. Little do I know someone else is waiting for me on the other side.

"Adon!!"

"Caleb!!"

The young boy runs into my arms. The giant, toothy grin on my face says it all.

"I was able to steal him from school since they're watching the Sports Festival as well," Soulius chuckles. I don't have any words. Even so, I am certain, with Caleb here, I am sure I can pull this off. Eventually, I know I will have to leave to join my classmates, so I receive permission to stay with Caleb and LaVelle until my match with Ashido comes up.

From there, we keep a close eye on all the participants. As much as I would like to talk with her, I stay focused. No surprise she understands. In fact, she smiles knowing she has taught me well.

At last, the first match is underway.

Izuku Midoriya versus Hitoshi Shinsou

I stare down at the ring, feeling uneasy. Anxiety takes over and I end up biting on the nail of my thumb. Needless to say. I'm not worried for myself if Shinso advances, but I hope Izuku takes my advice to heart. I don't want to see him struggle the way we did.

Present Mic calls for the match to begin.

It takes a moment for them to start on their own. I can only infer they're trading words before clashing. All of a sudden, Midoriya charges for the Gen Ed student out of anger and stops.

I close my eyes, pinching the bridge of my nose. It's clear the advice was for nothing.

"Let me guess," Soulius says. "Just by your expression alone, this match has fallen into Shinso's favor."

"Hitoshi Shinsou. His quirk, brainwashing." I answer looking on. "He can only activate his quirk through verbal response. I can only assume he must've asked something harsh to tick Midoriya off and bait him."

We continue to watch the horrid sight. As Hitoshi watches in pure bliss, Midoriya is blank. He turns around and walks towards the edge of the ring. I smack my teeth, upset by this outcome. However...

"Is there any way he can get out of it?" Caleb asks.

"Yes but it's easier said than done," I answer. "He will have to muster up all the willpower he can to break free."

Midoriya draws so close to defeat. I stay silent, though internally, I pray he can free himself. Izuku can do it, I am certain of it. Even if it is a small chance, it is still possible.
