Chapter XIX - Celebrate Life {Part II}

"SURPRISE!!!"

Uraraka, Ashido, and Yaoyorozu.

Kirishima, Iida, and Midoriya.

Denki, Caleb, Silas, and Lady Lavelle.

They all surprise me, welcoming me back with poppers and streamers. Above them is a "Happy Birthday, Adonis" banner. Behind them on the table is a red velvet cake, and a bunch of food in the kitchen. Also, a small pile of presents as well.

It's obvious I am at a huge loss for words. I gasp when a thought hits me.

"Denki, is this why you wanted a sleepover at my house?" I ask.

"Uh-huh," He smiles, giving me a thumbs up. He then rests his arms on Caleb's shoulders."But all this wouldn't be possible if it weren't for this one."

"This was your idea, Bub?" My eyes soften. "You didn't have to do this for me."

"Yes, I did," He responds. "You deserve it."

My eyes widen.

"You work so hard. Training, studying and taking care of me. I needed to do something, even if it was small. But then, I told Denki about how you've never had a birthday party."

"So, I had this crazy idea to have a birthday sleepover," Denki adds. "While you were running late, everyone here was curious about you and stuff. I decided to kill two birds with one stone since you were always busy."

"And we all gladly agreed to chip in," Momo says.

"Hopefully, you didn't forget where you come from. Sixteen is still a major milestone." Silas grins.

"You guys," I mutter. Suddenly, the tears well up and roll down my face. It becomes so uncontrollable, it's crazy, yet it is indescribable how happy I feel. The boys panic, especially Caleb.

"T-t-there's no need to cry!" My little brother states. I can only pull him into my arms. He's alarmed at the sudden embrace, but soon, he happily returns the hug.

"You're right," I smile. "I'm just so happy. And to hear it's all because of you... well... I don't know what to say."

I let Caleb go to see his face.

«I love you, you crazy kid.»

«I love you, too, Adon. Happy Birthday.»

"Thank you all, as well. This truly means a lot. I will never forget this!" I make that claim quite clear. However, I can't help but say it. "Still, there has to be something I can do. Let me pay you back for the food, at least."

The room grows silent until an abrupt burst of laughter comes in. I stare at them so confused, trying to figure how this is so funny.

"Soulius knew you would say such a thing." Momo giggles.

"No need to worry, Adonis," Lavelle says. "Just so you can have peace of mind, I reimbursed everyone for the party decorations and food."

"But--"

"Adonis, it's a party for you. Enjoy it." She orders. I have no other choice, knowing how stubborn she can get. "I've been wanting to give you and Caleb a party for some time now. Speaking of which--"

"Beach day tomorrow!!!" Silas excitedly interjects.

"That's right," Iida pushes his glasses in. "Courtesy of Lady Lavelle, it'll be a proper welcome party."

"Well, what are we waiting for?" I say. "Let's have some fun!"

"YEAH!!!"

The fun begins once the boys move out of the way, giving space to the girls. They give me my first present, which goes with everyone else. Now that I notice everyone, aside from Soulius, animal onesies are being worn. Even Caleb has a cute Shiba Inu onesie on. They quickly rush me to my room to change.
