Chapter 11

Time Skip- Friday

Artemis:

Artemis came to school feeling better, her wrists were bandaged from her suicide attempt. Everly and Scarlett walked with her to the cafeteria. Declan stood with Lucas leaning against the wall at the entrance of the cafeteria. He was arguing with Jack and his two other friends. Declan looked over at Artemis and immediately moved towards her. He looked concerned and grabbed her arm. She looked at him confused.

He looked her in the eyes, "I'm so sorry, I deserve what's coming."

"What?" Scarlett asked.

He walked back to Jack, who immediately punched Declan over the face. Artemis stood there shocked. Lucas tried to intervene but one of Jacks friend held him back. Declan took a few more punches before falling onto the ground. Artemis eyes widened watching the guy who saved her get his ass kicked.

'he's sorry, he saved me, I have to save him,' She thought.

Jack leaned over Declan ready to punch him, Artemis raced towards them she lunged at Jack and pushed him off Declan. Jack fell over as Artemis fell onto Declan's stomach. Artemis turned to Declan and held his face.

"Declan are you ok?" she asked.

He looked up, "Artemis."

"Hey!" Jack's friends yelled.

He went to kick Declan in the head, Artemis moved forward and grabbed his leg preventing him from kicking.

"Stop it please stop!" she cried.

He tried shaking her free, but she wouldn't give in. Jack got up and grabbed Artemis by her shirt and pulled her back. She slammed into the ground. Declan lunged at Jack after knocking him down he helped Artemis up.

"Stop it!" Artemis Yelled.

They all froze, Scarlett and Everly checked up on Lucas.

"This is over we are leaving, and I know that might seem weird, but you can all fuck off."

They all Walked off into the cafeteria and sit down, Artemis used napkins to help clean Declan's wound.

"I'm so sorry Artemis," he said.

"it's ok, I wouldn't want your pretty boy face to be ruined would I," She smiled.

He looked at her longingly, "you have a beautiful smile."

She blushed, "um, do you want to go to the park with me after school."

After school Declan and Artemis sat in the park talking.

"you're so very cute, pretty boy," She laughed.

"don't make me blush," he joked.

Artemis looked up at the sky, "oh wow look at the stars."

They stared up, Artemis grabbed Declan's arm and flung him and her onto their backs looking at the sky.

Artemis stared at them deeply, "my god they're gorgeous."

"I didn't know you were a star simp," Declan laughed.

Artemis burst out laughing, she giggled and smiled continuously. Declan looked at her as she smiled. She turned to him and opened her eyes to notice him staring at her, she blushed as their faces came closer. He smiled at her, she leaned up and kissed him. They came apart and Artemis snuggled into Declan's Chest.

"Thank you," She said, "you saved me."

Declan smiled and kissed her forehead, "I love you."

Artemis smiled, "I love you too, I love everything about you."

"Finally," a familiar voice said.

They both jumped up in fright, Scarlett, Everly and Lucas loomed over them.

"Oh my god we are so happy for you," Everly said.

Artemis jumped up and hugged her three friends, "thank you guys for being the best friends I could ever have."

They all hugged her back.

Lucas smiled, "let's go get some food huh?"

They all headed towards some restaurants, Declan placed his arm over Artemis and smiled, she looked up and smiled back at him.

'I've finally found the perfect happiness.' She thought, 'thank you guys.'

She looked forwards as the friend group walked into town.
