Chapter 6: The Plan

I woke up in a pitch black room. I tried to get up and look around, but I was tied down to a chair.

"Is anyone there?" I called out, hoping someone would hear me.

"I'm here." A voice said. I recognized it as Saki's voice.

Suddenly, a bright light turned on, and what I saw next, was horrifying. I saw Shark, Yuma, Crow and Kalin all in separate cages. Well, Crow and Kalin were in the same cage.

"Shark! Yuma! Are you guys okay!?" I asked in a panicked tone.

"Kalin and I are okay. The drug appears to have worn off for us. Can't say the same for Yuma and Crow though." Shark replied.

I turned my head and noticed that Saki was tied down to a chair, just like me!

"See, this is why I don't drink leaf water from strangers. But no! No one ever listens to Saki!" She said, annoyed.

I looked back at Shark. "So, how are Yuma and Crow still zonked out while you two are fine?" I asked.

Shark looked away. "Highschool prepared us for this moment." Kalin said.

My eyes widened. "Are you telling me you did drugs in highschool?! Shark!" I said, furious.

"I expected that out of Kalin, but not Shark." Saki said.

I turned away, furious at Shark. "So Shark, at least tell me you smoked some of the good stuff." Saki said.

"SAKI! What is wrong with you?!" I yelled.

The four of us heard a groan as Crow sat up in the cage. "My fucking head hurts! What did you guys do?" He asked in an angry tone.

Kalin pulled Crow forward, hugging him. "Eva drugged all of us. That's why your head hurts." Kalin replied.

Crow looked at Kalin for a second, then he closed his eyes and hugged Kalin back.

"Well, what a surprise. Crow doesn't push Kalin away." Saki said, getting a sharp growl from Crow in return.

"Well~! I'm glad you all are enjoying your stay! But that ends now!" A voice said.

I looked up and saw Eva standing up on a balcony.

"You sick bastard! You drugged all of us! But what was the point?! You have nothing to gain!" I yelled at her.

Eva walked over to a control board while laughing. "You see, me and my friends have found some strange substances from a different world. So far, everyone that we've tested the substance on has died. I figure I'll test it on you two!" Eva said, pulling a lever.

It took me this long to realize that there was an IV in my arm. Saki had one too. This light blue liquid began flowing through the IV into my arm. Saki had silver liquid.

Saki and I screamed in pain, hoping something would miraculously happen and she would stop.

"SAKI!" Crow and Kalin screamed.

"Stop this now Eva!" Shark said, pounding on the bars of his cage.

Eva just stood there, laughing like a maniac once more. "Be mine Shark! Then I'll stop their pain!" She said.

Saki's screaming became louder than mine as I saw her break the metal restraints on her as if they were plastic. She ripped her IV out yelled.

Saki then looked at me and ripped off my restraints. I pulled the IV out, being very weak. I walked over to Shark and tried to get him out of the cage.

But the bars wouldn't budge. My eyes began tearing up as I realized he was stuck in there.

"Zueki."

I looked around with tears in my eyes. I know that voice. I thought.

"Then call out his name and earn his power."

I turned around and saw Quinton and Zen's spirit. They nodded at me, and I nodded back.

I stood up. "I'll call out his name! Quinton! Lend me your strength!" I yelled as a blue light consumed me.

I got up off the ground, feeling an insane amount of power due to the crest Quinton had.

"Zueki, we can do this together!" Quinton said to me. I nodded and ran over to Eva.

"Saki! Get them out of the cages!" I yelled as I attacked Eva.

Saki's POV
I ran over to the cage Crow and Kalin were in. I was easily able to pull the bars apart. "Kalin! You grab Crow and get out of here!" I yelled as I ran over to Shark's cage.

I pulled the bars apart on his cage, and he ran over to Yuma's cage immediately.

"Yuma! Yuma, answer me!" He said, pulling the bars.

"Shark, let the strong one do it." I said, pulling the bars apart. Shark grabbed Yuma out of the cage.

"Yuma I'm sorry! I should've listened to you!" Shark said.

I looked at my arm and wondered what happened. It was as if my muscles were made of titanium or something.

Zueki's POV
"Well, I have no more time. My husband will want to see me." Eva said, jumping onto a higher platform. She took an envelope out of her pocket and threw it at me.

"Join me next weekend for the cruise of a lifetime!" She said with a laugh as she disappeared.

I looked at the invitation. It was for a cruise that was next weekend and would be held for a full week.

I turned around and ran back to the others. Saki got everyone out of the cages, but Yuma was still unconscious. I ran over to him.

"Are you guys oka-" I fell to the ground. Quinton's strength was fading away.

"He is weak. He can't help you right now." Zen's words echoed.

"Zueki! Are you okay?!" Shark asked in a concerned tone. I stood back up. "I'm fine. Just tired..." I said.

Suddenly, a big bright flash teleported all of us out of the lab. We all were standing at the front of Eva's house.

We didn't waste any time getting out of there. I jumped into the backseat of the car while Shark set Yuma down next to me. Shark drove us out of there very quickly.

Once we were on the highway, we sighed in relief.  I laid my head on Yuma's shoulder, hoping he would soon wake up. "We are never talking to her again." I said.

"I guess so. I thought Eva had truly changed. Guess she's still that crazy psychopath." Shark said.

"You got that right." Yuma said as he woke up. I hugged him tightly.

"I'm glad nothing happened to you guys. I mean, aside from being drugged." I said.

Once we were home, I got out of the car and passed out upstairs. I was really tired. Probably from that drug. I thought.

Shark came up to check on me a few minutes later. "W-What do you need?" I asked, sitting up.

"I was going to make sure you were okay." Shark said. Despite how bad I felt, I forced a smile. "I'm fine." I said.

"Are you sure Zueki? You look really pale..."

"I-I honestly f-feel fine..."

Shark looked concerned and put his hand on my forehead. "Lay back down Zueki. You have a fever." Shark said.

I wasn't about to argue with him. I laid back down in my bed and fell asleep, awaiting morning.
