Chapter 24: The world, in danger

We arrived at the club and I immediately HATED it. There was a horrible smell everywhere, I assumed it was alcohol. Not to mention how a certain dude came up to me and tried to flirt. At first, I just ignored him, but when he grabbed my shoulder, you should've seen how hard Yuma slapped this guy across the face.

I stood there in shock for a second, but Yuma then grabbed me by the arm and pulled me in his direction.

"You're staying close to me until we get back, you understand?" He said.

I nodded quickly. Mainly because I didn't want to get slapped as hard as that other guy did.

So, we then moved quickly through the club because we didn't want anymore trouble. We were able to make it to the back room without any suspicion, and found a map of the floor taped against the wall.

I began looking at the map, seeing if I could possibly find a hint of where Shark would be kept. My eyes then wandered over to a "deluxe" room, and it looked like it would be the room we were looking for.

"Okay, there's an expensive ass room down the hall. If I had to guess, Eva has Shark in there." I said.

"Most likely." Yuma said.

"Alright. Zueki, Yuma and Quattro should go with you to check out the room. Kari and I will keep watch from here." Vector said.

I nodded as the three of us began walking towards the room.

Once we reached the room, I tried listening for voices, but heard nothing. I assumed the coast was clear and slowly opened the door, praying Eva wouldn't be in the room.

"Stay the fuck away from me! I already told you no! I'm never going to be yours!"

I looked in just a little bit and saw Shark's jacket on the floor after I heard his voice.

"Yuma, you should go in first." I whispered to him. Yuma nodded and walked in, picking up the jacket along the way.

"Are you sure you want me to 'stay the fuck away' from you?" Yuma asked Shark.

I then heard Yuma get tackled to the floor as Shark hugged him. I looked in and saw that Shark only had his jacket off, and no more.

THANK GOD.

However, the most shocking thing was that Shark was CRYING. And Shark never cries!

"Y-Yuma..." Was all Shark could say as he kept crying.

"I'm here now Reginald. Everything is okay." Yuma said, gently stroking Shark's back.

I smiled to myself. Finally! My parents were reunited!

I walked closer to the two of them. "Not that I want to ruin this moment, but we should probably get back to the base before someone finds us." I said.

Yuma nodded. "You're right. We can-"

Yuma was suddenly cut off when Vector and Kari were thrown into the room. Quattro ran over to them and checked to see if they were conscious or not.

I turned towards the door and saw her.

Eva.

"Well! Looks like we have a few visitors! Now, I wonder how you're going to get everyone out safe..." She said to me.

I transformed into my Barian form quickly. "Vector! Shark! I need you guys to get everyone away now!" I yelled, taking a defensive stance. I didn't hear any response, but everyone that was with me was gone within a minute.

"Listen, I'll make a deal with you Zueki. Give me Shark and I will leave Paris. I'll take Hawkmoth's Miraculous and everything. You and your friends will be at total peace for the rest of your lives and I'll have my love!" Eva said.

"Hell no! Shark is a part of MY family! Can't you just find another man?!" I replied.

"Yes, but no man is as perfect as Shark~!" She said.

I rolled my eyes at her. "Screw it. It's better to just leave than to-"

Suddenly, I was kicked in my back, making me fall to the ground. I looked up and saw Selena standing next to Eva.

"Great. The other one is here." I sighed, getting up.

"Listen, I've got to get back to the others, so why don't we rain check this fight?" I said, turning around.

"Running from a fight? I see why your parents didn't want you." Eva said.

I turned around. "What the hell did you say?!" I screamed.

"What? You know I'm right~" She said.

I bolted towards Eva and used my Barian powers to try and hit her up against the wall, but she was able to dodge.

"You're so weak, you shouldn't even be called a Barian!"

I stood up and punched Eva straight in the mouth. Blood soon followed by dripping out of her mouth.

She gave me a pissed off look and I realized that I couldn't fight two people at once. If they were able to kidnap Shark and Yuma, I wouldn't last.

I quickly teleported back to base making sure it was just me and no one else.

As I got back, I felt a sharp pain as I coughed. I looked down at my hands seeing blood. Rio saw me and screamed, grabbing everyone's attention.

I fell back, but Quinton caught me and gently set me on the ground.

I looked at myself and saw a knife. Now I knew what had happened. Within seconds, Shark and Yuma had rushed over with other Barians.

"What the hell happened twerp?!" Vector yelled.

"Heh, you should see the other girl. Her face is fu-" I was cut off by more coughing, and blood dripping from my lips.

"Damnit! Why isn't it working?!" Shark yelled. I looked down at him and saw that he was trying to heal my wound, but nothing was happening.

I looked up at all of the Barians. My hearing was going out and it was getting harder to breathe.

"G-Guys... Promise me something right now." I said, trying my hardest to not die right now.

"Y-You need to defeat Eva. Please...take her down for me." I said.

I coughed more blood as Quinton and Yusei both tried to sit me up, to keep me from choking. I knew it didn't matter. I had already lost too much blood.

"Zueki! Don't close your eyes! Please don't die on us! You can't leave!" Shark cried.

"I-I'm... sorry..." I said as everything around me went black.

"ZUEKI!"
