Chapter 15: Unexpected Attack

I was brought back to reality by Vector's voice.

"It'd be a foolish thing to do! I mean, seriously! She was taken out by Eva! No true Barian would've let their own ass get kicked by someone like that! That just proves weakness!" Vector yelled.

As Vector said all of this, memories of the torture Eva put me through flashed through my mind, and it terrified me.

I couldn't hold it back anymore. Tears began pouring down my face. I buried my face in my hands and broke down.

"Vector! That was uncalled for!" Alito yelled.

No....he was right....

I felt a hand on my shoulder, then someone picked me up and began walking me upstairs.

"I'm sorry Zueki, but you don't wanna get into it with ANY of the Barians."

It was Yuma. He knew what the Barians were like when they were mad. And it ain't cute.

"V-Vector's right. I shouldn't be princess!" I said.

Yuma walked into my room and gently set me down on my bed. "Shut up. You are perfect just the way you are, and Shark knows that. That's why he asked for your opinion. It's still up to you whether you want to accept the position or not." He said.

"Dad...I can still hear her voice... I-I'm scared..." I said, my breathing picking up.

Yuma placed his hand on my shoulder. "Sweetheart, please calm down. Eva isn't going to harm you while I'm here. I need you to take deep breaths for me, okay?"

I nodded and began taking deep breaths while Yuma placed his hand on the side of my face.

Once I calmed down, Yuma suggested that I relax up here for a little bit, and then he'd come and get me later. He then walked towards my door and turned out the light as I tried to fall asleep.

Yuma's POV
I closed the door to Zueki's room and walked downstairs.

I saw Alito and Mizar holding Vector back from hitting Shark and Dumon was holding Shark back. Shark and Vector were yelling and insulting each other as they struggled to get out of their friends' grasp.

I put two fingers in my mouth and whistled loudly, getting everyone's attention.

"Reginald, our daughter is trying to relax upstairs, so please keep it down. As for the rest of you, I suggest you stay quiet or else." I said.

"Yuma, he needs to go apologize to Zueki! What he said wasn't okay!" Shark said, pointing to Vector.

I walked up to him.

"Babe, let Vector think what he wants. It doesn't change anything." I said.

Shark sighed. "Fine! But he's STILL going to apologize to Zueki later!" He said.

Zueki's POV
I could still hear everyone screaming downstairs. This kind of scared me. I know that Vector was wrong to say that, but it still hurts.

"Oh? Hurt are we?"

I froze. Who the hell said that?! I looked in the corner of my room and saw a VERY SCARY shadow-like creature.

"W-Who are you?" I asked.

"What? You don't remember me little Kirā?" The voice said.

OH. SHIT. The voice belonged to the one and only Don Thousand. I looked at him as he began approaching me.

"Don't touch me! Stay away!" I yelled.

Don Thousand held his finger up to my lips while making a 'shh' sound. I'm just gonna say, his crusty shadow fingers are the most VILE thing I've ever seen. Well, I guess he's tied with expired/spoiled milk.
