"Bye guys! I'll see you after school!" I said as I left the house.

Today was the first day of school, and surprisingly, it wasn't delayed because of the war! Turns out Miraculous magic shit really helps clean the city up!

I walked down the sidewalk, passing by Quinton's place on my way to school.

I noticed Trey sitting on the porch.

"Hi Trey! It's nice to see your feeling better!" I said with a smile.

Trey smiled back. "Had it not been for you and Yusei, I don't think I'd be here right now." He said.

"Aw, it was nothing! We're always ready to help someone in need, especially when that someone is family!" I said. "I have to get to school now, but I see you later!" I waved goodbye.

"Have a nice day Zueki!" Trey said, waving back.

The walk to school was rather quick. As I reached the steps of the school, I was tackled by a hug from Valerie and Alya.

"Oh my gosh! I've missed you so much!" Alya said.

I laughed. "Guys! Get off! You're crushing me!"

The two of them got off and helped me off the ground.

"Awesome! We have lunch, English and theatre together!" Valerie said, throwing her hands in the air.

"I swear, if you constantly make Hamilton references in theatre..." I growled.

"Sorry! But getting the same theatre class as you is a blessing! As Alexander Hamilton said, 'I am NOT throwing away my shot'!" Valerie said.

"Jeez, you sound like Lexie." I sighed.

The first bell then rang, and the three of us went to our designated classes. Mine was Algebra 2 with Mrs. Smith.

I opened the door and sat down in my assigned seat.

I wonder who sits next to me... I thought.

The final bell rang a few minutes later, and still no one in the seat next to me. I shrugged it off, because it didn't matter to me. I honestly prefer working alone anyways.

Then, the door opened quickly.

"I'm so sorry I'm late!" The girl said.

"That's okay. Just make sure it doesn't happen again." Mrs. Smith said.

"Yes ma'am!" The girl said, walking to her seat. Well, it just so happened that she sat next to me.

This girl had thick black hair pulled into pigtails, and I assumed she curled her hair after putting it into pigtails. She wore glasses and a very formal dark blue dress.

I thought that was weird, because who the hell wears something like that to school, but I didn't judge.

"Hi! I'm Zueki." I whispered.

"Nice to meet you! I'm Taylor!" The girl replied.

I smiled as she shook my hand. Well, sophomore year was definitely off to a good start!

At least, that's what I thought...
