Chapter 5

Sam's POV

We are now here at FE Mall, mamimili kami ng mga furnitures at appliances para sa magiging bahay namin, or should I say mansion. Sabi ni Albert ang mansion na iyon ay isa sa mga unang ginawa sa Exquisite Meadow, at iyon din daw ang pinakamalaki.

Ayon kay Albert ay 5 years ng tapos ang mansion na 'yon. Pero sadya daw niyang hindi pinalagyan ng kahit anong furniture, appliances at kung anu-ano pang gamit. Sa katunayan ay ilaw lang talaga ang makikita sa loob at labas niyon, at kahit sa garden ay wala pa ring mga bulaklak. Well, of course ang library eh puno na ng mga libro. Para siyang abandoned mansion na maganda at malinis.

Gusto daw n'ya na kasama n'ya sa pagde-decide sa interior design ang kanyang asawa. I find it sweet and romantic.

At dahil ako ang asawa n'ya, kaya ako ang kasama n'ya na mag-de-design ng buong mansion. Napagkasunduan namin na hindi na kami mag-ha-hire ng interior designer, kami na lang ang bahala sa lahat. Napag-usapan na namin kanina pa kung ano at kung ilan ang bibilhin, mamimili na lang kami ng design and color.

Mabilis kaming natapos bumili ng mga furniture and appliances. Ide-deliver na lang daw ang mga iyon in two days. Nandito na kami ngayon sa kitchen utensils. Hinahayaan ko lang si Albert ang kumuha ng mga kakailanganin namin. Tumitingin lang ako ng mga gamit, ayaw kong kumuha kahit isa. Baka kasi hindi ko mapigilan ang sarili ko at mabili ko lahat.

Bedroom, library at kitchen ang paborito kong parte ng isang bahay. Bedroom kasi doon ako nakakapaghinga, library because I love reading, and kitchen because I really love cooking and baking. At ngayong nandito ako sa harap ng mga cooking and baking tool, equipment, and utensils, it is like a dream come true for me. Dahil matagal ko ng gustong magkaroon ng kitchen na kumpletong gamit sa pagluluto at pag-be-bake.

"What's stopping you?" wika ni Albert nang makitang nakatitig ako sa mga baking utensils. "You don't have to restrain yourself. You can get what you want. Our kitchen is spacious enough for you to cook and bake. If you like, we can ask someone to expand it."

"Sobrang laki na ng kitchen mo, napakalawak na no'n at hindi mo na kailangan pang palawakin pa. And I just can't get everything I want."

"First, it is OUR kitchen. Second, who says you can't get what you want?"

"Sa dami ng gusto kong bilhin baka kulangin ang dala kong cash, at baka pati credit cards ko eh hindi kayanin."

"Who says I will let you pay for it? We are now husband and wife. I will let you work and earned money, and you can spend it anytime you want. But when it comes to our household expenses, I will be the one to shoulder it. Now, be a good wife and get everything our kitchen will need."

"Are you sure? Kasi kung ako ang masusunod gusto ko lahat ng gamit sa pagluluto at pagbe-bake kumpleto. I like to have a complete set of all in different kind, size, color and design."

"Just get everything you want."

Hindi na ako nag-dalawang-isip pa, kinuha ko na lahat ng gusto kong cooking and baking tools, equipment and utensils. Mula sa gamit pagluluto, gamit sa pag-be-bake, mga lalagyan ng condiments, mga pinggan, kutsara, tinidor, baso, tasa at kung anu-ano pa.

Tinutulungan din naman ako ni Albert, tinutulungang dagdagan ang binibili. He always make double, triple or more lahat ng binibili ko lalo na sa mga kitchen utensils. Para daw kasi kapag may bisita kami or party sa bahay eh kumpleto na ang gamit. At dahil sa dami ng pinamili namin, ide-deliver na lang din daw ang mga iyon kasabay ng mga binili naming appliances and furniture.

"Where do you want to go next? Shopping, grocery or dinner?"

Napatingin ako sa wrist watch ko, it is already 7:00 pm kaya pala nag-aakit na ng dinner itong kasama ko. Hindi ko namalayan ang oras.

"I don't have to go shopping. Dinner muna tayo then grocery."

"Okay."

We headed to a Japanese restaurant. Kakaupo lang namin nang makita ko ang lalaki at babae na nakaupo sa di-kalayuan sa amin. Nakatalikod sila sa amin kaya hindi nila kami pansin.

Albert's POV

We were already sitting when I noticed Sam staring at the couple sitting not far away from us. They were sweet and romantic.

When I look at Sam again, I can see that she's angry and uncomfortable.

"If you want we can go to other restaurant."

"What? Why?" she asked confused.

"You were angrily staring at them, I guess they were-"

"My ex-fiancé and ex-bestfriend, Sherwin and Rina." she continued what I was about to say.

"Do you want to go to other restaurant? Well, unless you're ready for a confrontation with them. Because I'm sure they will notice us later."

She shakes her head. "I'm not yet ready to confront them. I'm sorry, we have to move because of me."

"It's okay. I know that you need time."

"Thanks." she said smiling.

After we left the Japanese restaurant we went to a Korean restaurant. And I'm glad that she is now okay.

"Where will we stay tonight?" I asked her while we were eating.

"We?"

"Yes, we. We already talked last night that we will be living under the same roof, right?"

"Yes. But I haven't packed my things yet, so I thought tonight you will stay at your place and I will be in mine."

"You got it wrong. Mag-asawa na tayo kaya kung saan ka, doon ako. Unless one of us is out of town or out of the country." I looked at her and I can see that she's nervous. "Even if we will live under the same roof, it doesn't mean that we need to sleep in one bed. If you're not ready, we can sleep in seperate bed."

Sam's POV

Hindi agad ako nakapagsalita sa sinabing iyon ni Albert. I was touched and at the same time annoyed at myself.

He is doing everything to make me comfortable. Pero heto ako nag-iinarte. May nangyari na sa amin pero I'm still hesitating to sleep beside him.

"And even if we will sleep on the same bed, I promise that we will not do it again unless you are willing to do it."

"I'm sorry kung nag-iinarte ako. Alam ko na may nangyari na sa atin pero-"

"You don't have to say sorry. When that happen to us we were both not sober. I understand what you are feeling right now. You don't have to worry." putol n'ya sa sinasabi ko.

"Thank you."

"So, were will we stay tonight?" tanong niya ulit.

"At your place. But I'll need to buy some stuff."

"Okay."
