Rain

There's something about the way the
streets look after it rains.
A silver-like glow reflects off the
pavement under the street lights.
Silence fills the air and all you could hear
was the rain hitting the pavement.
But suddenly, a woman's scream
broke the peaceful yet foreboding silence.
She runs onto the empty streets and
cries as the pouring rain hits her skin.
The woman had lost the one person
she loved more than life itself.
Her cries pierced the nightfall and was
soon overtaken by loud booms
of thunder in the distance.
She was heartbroken past the point
of no return.. and alone she stood
in the rain— letting the water drops
disguise her tears.
